After the successful release of Ghostrunner in 2020, developer One More Level and publisher 505 Games are back with the highly anticipated sequel to the game. Simply titled Ghostrunner 2, it saw its official release on October 26, 2023, and is available for download and play on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The reception around Ghostrunner 2 has been quite positive, with much of the praise going towards its thrilling level design and overall gameplay improvements. However, like any other newly released title, Ghostrunner 2 also suffers from some issues. This guide, in particular, will focus on the Godrunner Achievement Not Unlocking bug in the game.
For the uninitiated, Godrunner is one of the 34 achievements in Ghostrunner 2. The prerequisite? Well, you just have to finish any five levels without dying. While not easy, this is one of those achievements that players have been trying their best to get. And a bug has just become a major roadblock towards getting the Godrunner achievement. For some reason, players don’t seem to get the achievement despite satisfying the achievement condition. Some have even gone on to complete 6 or 7 levels without dying and still weren’t able to unlock it. As such, this bug has really become a major source of frustration for a lot of players. But is there a fix? Well, continue reading to find out!
Ghostrunner 2 Godrunner Achievement Not Unlocking Bug: Is there any fix yet
Since the developers have yet to acknowledge this bug, you will need to make do with the following workarounds for now. Try them out and see if any of them are of help to you.
Restart –
The obvious first choice when it comes to fixing this bug is to simply perform a restart of the game. While it’s not a surefire way of resolving this bug, it is still a good way of finding out if this is just a one-off glitch or something more serious, one that will need more than just restarting the game.
Verify files –
This workaround can only be used by PC players. Issues such as this can be a result of Ghostrunner 2 having corrupted or missing files. Thankfully, this problem can be mitigated quite easily. After all, you just need to:
Steam
- Open Steam and click on Library.
- Find Ghostrunner 2 in there and right-click on it.
- Next, select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
Epic
- Start the Epic Games Launcher and choose Library from the left panel.
- Afterward, click on the three dots next to Ghostrunner 2 and select Manage > Verify.
GOG
- Launch GOG Galaxy Launcher and click on Owned Games.
- Now, right-click on Ghostrunner 2 to select Manage Installation > Verify/Repair.
Remember to restart your PC after you have finished verifying files.
Keep completing levels –
Some players had the Godrunner achievement unlocked after completing several other levels. So, what we suggest you do is to keep completing levels. This isn’t the most ideal of workarounds, but it is one that has been able to help certain players finally get this achievement. So, consider giving it a try.
Reinstall –
In case you are still unable to get this achievement even after trying the workarounds, we suggest you do a reinstall of the game. It’s the only method left that has some hope of fixing this issue.
