Forza Horizon 5 is out as the early access and a lot of us have already tried it. The game is certainly the best in terms of everything and has got some rave reviews from gamers and gaming websites all around the world.
Within these amazing reviews, we also have some reported issues that the players are facing. One of the most commonly reported issues is that the game does not start and crashes for the players. If you are facing such issues as well, here is what you have to do –
DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET
This is the simplest and the easiest thing you can do to fix the crash issue. You just need to disconnect your internet connection, reopen the game and then launch it in offline mode.
Once you enter the game, you have to wait until you get to the main menu. After getting the main menu, you can simply turn the internet back on and go online again. This solution has fixed the crash issue for many and hopefully can solve yours too.

So take care of this stuff before playing the game to avoid crash complications.
TURN OFF WINDOWS DEFENDER OR ANY OTHER ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAMS
This is one of the most common reasons why a game like Forza Horizon 5 does not start and crashes. Most of the games of today are designed such that their running process is hindered by the anti-virus software you have on your PC. And this included Windows Defender as well. Any anti-virus software marks the game files as false positives and hence does not let them run normally, thus causing the crash issue. To turn off this software, follow the below steps –
- Open Start.
- Open Settings.
- Click Update & Security.
- Click Windows Security. This tab is on the upper-left side of the window.
- Click Virus & threat protection.
- Click Virus & threat protection settings.
- Disable Windows Defender’s real-time scanning.
- Set game priority to high
- Turn off any overlays.
Playground Games has released a list of software that can stop the game from launching on your PC –
- Trend Micro Maximum Security
- Comodo Antivirus
- Sophos
- Emisoft
- Avira
- Avast
- Bitdefender Firewall
