Fortnite: How to mute players?

Fortnite is a behemoth in the gaming world. It launched at the peak of the Battle Royale scene and has since remained one of the most played games of all time. Fortnite is a unique mix of a kiddish game with very intense and developed game mechanics. It also has some of the most fun and memorable crossovers in all of gaming. This game came into the scene a couple of years ago and has managed to change the way games are played entirely. It is a multiplayer game. This means there are going to be other players with you in the match. This also means communication is key to winning. Despite this, there are always those annoying people that scream in your ear when they are trying to communicate. In this article, we are going to be discussing how to mute these people in-game.

Fortnite: How to mute players?

Muting someone is usually a last resort. No matter how bad the comms, some information is always better than no information. You usually look to mute someone that screams in your ear and make barely any sense. You also mute players when you are playing on speakers and not headphones. This is mostly when you want it to be quiet or want to focus on the game. Luckily, this is not too hard to do in Fortnite.

Fortnite: How to mute players?

Muting a player is very easy in Fortnite. You can only talk between the same party. This means all comms will mostly be your own party mates or squadmates. There are different ways to mute people in squads or in your party. Here are the steps to mute in both forums;

Party;

1) Highlight the player in the party.
2) Select the Options menu by pressing the required key.
3) Navigate to the Mute option.
4) Select the Mute option. You have now muted your party member.

Squads;

To mute squads, you will need to turn off voice chat in Settings entirely. You can do this by accessing the Settings in the game menu and changing the Voice Options there. Here are the steps to mute teammates;

1) Open the Settings tab in Fortnite by pressing the required button.
2) Navigate to the Voice option.
3) Here, change Voice settings to Nobody.
4) You have now muted all teammates and party mates.

This is the easiest method to mute people in Fortnite. We recommend doing this only if they are not being helpful and are actively distracting your game and experience. As we said before, some comms are better than no comms at all.
