COD Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Dev Error 6015: Is there any fix yet

Call of Duty series has been a part of the gaming community for a long time now. Most of the games in this series have been successful. Well, Call of Duty games are also infamous for their bugs and issues. The recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is no different. MW3 is criticized for the various bugs and issues the game inherits. Likewise, recently, players have encountered Dev Error 6015 while playing COD MW3. This error is frustrating as it affects the performance and playability of the game. If you’re encountering the same error, then consider reading this guide for workarounds to fix it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was recently launched on various platforms. Like its predecessors, MW3 is a first-person shooter, and it works on an advanced version of the IW engine. Well, this provides better graphics and immersive gameplay. However, players are unable to fully get this experience as the game throws random bugs at them. One such is Dev Error 6015, which many have reported encountering. Well, this issue was present in COD MW2 as well, so it is no surprise that it made it to COD MW3.

Unfortunately, the developers have not addressed the issue. Hence, there are no official fixes yet. Well, the Dev Error 6015 is a frequently occurring issue and there can be a few reasons for it to occur. However, it is not currently possible to pinpoint its cause. This is why we have shared a bunch of workarounds for you to try:

Update GPU drivers

Outdated graphics drivers could be a reason for the error to occur. So, make sure that your device’s graphics card drivers are updated to the latest version. You can do this by visiting the official AMD/Nvidia website and downloading the latest version for your GPU model. Once downloaded, install it, and restart your PC. After this, launch the game and check whether the issue persists.

Repair Game files

Corrupted or missing game files can also lead to this error. Therefore, verifying the integrity of game files can help you fix this issue. Follow these steps to verify the game files of COD MW3:

For Steam:
  • First, head over to the Steam Library.
  • Then, right-click on COD MW3.
  • Choose Properties, and go to Installed Files.
  • Click on ‘Verify the integrity of game files’.
  • Now, launch the game.
For Battle.net:
  • Open the Battle.net launcher.
  • Go to COD MW3, and choose ‘Options’.
  • Select ‘Scan and Repair.’
  • Once done, launch the game.

Check Server Status

Ensure that the COD MW3 servers are running smoothly. Well, servers under maintenance can be a reason for Dev Error 6015’s occurrence. You can check the server status on the official site by clicking here. If the servers are indeed down, you will have to wait until they are back online and then try again.

Change in-game language

This is a workaround that fixed the issue in COD MW2, so it is worth trying in COD MW3. You can change the game’s language via Steam by right-clicking on the game and selecting Properties. After this, select the Language tab and change the language. Once done, launch the game and check if the issue persists.

Apply Lowest Graphics Quality preset

If you can launch the game and access its settings, consider heading over to the Video tab and applying the lowest graphics quality preset. Save the changes, and then check if you encounter the error code again.

Update the Game

It is possible that the game version you have installed is not the latest one. If that’s so, the chances of encountering issues in games are quite high. So, check that the game is up-to-date. If there’s a pending update, make sure to install it and then try again.

Reinstall

If the issue persists, consider reinstalling the game. But do note that there is no guarantee that doing so will fix the issue. However, a fresh copy of the game might be all you need to get rid of this error code, so this method is worth a try.

Well, that was all for this guide to fix Dev Error 6015 in COD MW3. We hope that these workarounds will help resolve the issue. For more such guides and updates, visit DigiStatement daily. Also read: COD Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Match Rules Data Error: Is there any fix yet
