After fully releasing on November 10, 2023, Sledgehammer Games’ COD: Modern Warfare 3 has turned out to be one of the worst-reviewed games in the entire COD history. And one of the many reasons behind it is because of the myriad of issues plaguing the game. As for this guide, in particular, it will deal with the Attachments Not Unlocking/Showing Up issue.
Well, as the name suggests, this issue makes it impossible for attachments to show up in the gunsmiths. There are also instances where players are able to use blueprints but after removing an attachment, the game doesn’t allow them to put the attachment back in. Now, we don’t really know what’s causing this issue, but the problem here is so rampant that players are looking to get a fix ASAP. So, is there any fix? Continue reading to find out!
COD Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Attachments Not Unlocking/Showing Up: Is there any fix yet
For now, players will have to make do with the following workarounds, as we are yet to receive an official acknowledgement from the developers regarding this issue. Follow these carefully and see if any of them are of help.
Turn off filters –
The reason you are not seeing all of your attachments properly is that the filter is turned on, resulting in issues like attachments not showing up. So, all you have to do is disable the attachments filter, and you will be able to resolve this particular issue.
Get to a proper weapon level –
Sometimes the game might display incorrect text, where it will not show the appropriate weapon attachment unlock level. So, what we recommend here is to simply keep grinding and achieving higher weapon levels until you are able to properly unlock and equip weapon attachments.
Unequip the Hijacked IFF Strobe perk –
For those unaware, the Hijacked IFF Strobe Perk is currently bugged and, as a result, has become a major source of issues, including this one. As such, until Sledgehammer fixes this perk, we suggest you keep it unequipped.
Verify files –
You can also try the verifying files method and see if it helps with this issue. Basically, what you need to do is open Steam and then click on Library. Next, right-click on the game and then select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. After the process is finished, restart your PC and then launch the game.
Reinstall –
Doing a fresh install of the game could work, but for that, you will need a good connection to download MW3. And considering just how big MW3 is, make sure that your internet speed is good and has no major interferences.
Well, now that you know how to deal with the Attachments Not Unlocking/Showing Up issue in COD MW3, why not go even further and see how to resolve the custom loadouts not saving bug in the game?
