You need to navigate to the Settings section of the game, and then you need to choose ‘Graphics’. Then make the following changes (leave it as it is if the changes are already applied):

  • DISPLAY MODE: FULLSCREEN – Fullscreen display mode helps in keeping an apt frame rate. It also reduces the usage of VRAM.
  • DISPLAY MONITOR: Default Monitor- Set the Display Monitor option to the monitor on which you will be playing the game.
  • SCREEN REFRESH RATE: Maximum – Set the Screen Refresh Rate to the maximum value available.
  • DISPLAY ADAPTER: Default GPU – Set the Display Adapter to the primary Graphics Card that you are having on your PC.
  • DISPLAY RESOLUTION: Native Screen Resolution – Set the Display Resolution according to the resolution of your monitor screen.
  • ASPECT RATIO: Automatic – It is the ratio in which you will see the gameplay window on your screen. So, set it to automatic for the best results.
  • FPS TARGET: Intermediate – Set the FPS target in the intermediate range, else a high level of FPS Target may have a negative impact on the game.
  • V-SYNC[GAMEPLAY]: OFF
  • V-SYNC[MENUS]: OFF
  • CUSTOM FRAMERATE LIMIT: CUSTOM – Set the Custom Framerate Limit to somewhat near the max refresh rate of your monitor.
    • GAMEPLAY CUSTOM FRAMERATE LIMIT: 60/120
    • MENU CUSTOM FRAMERATE LIMIT: 60/120
  • FOCUSED MODE: ON

Now, head to the Interface Tab, and change the following settings-

  • TELEMETRY – In the Telemetry section, you will get the options that will help you judge whether there is an FPS-related issue or not during laggy gameplay. The Server Latency as well as the Packet Loss both are related to the online gameplay and will give you information about how effective is the online functioning of the data fetching process from the server.
    • FPS COUNTER: ON
    • SERVER LATENCY: ON
    • PACKET LOSS: ON
  • ADVANCED INTERFACE SETTINGS
    • NETWORK IN-GAME ALERT ICONS: ON
    • HARDWARE IN-GAME ALERT ICONS: ON

You can also use the Dynamic Resolution option in the game. After these settings are selected, make sure to apply the changes and then start a match. You might get some idea of how your PC is performing while running the game. So, these are the best settings to run COD Modern Warfare 2 (II) on a Low-End PC.
