There are countless games that feature simulations related to farming, racing, flight, and more. However, the city-builder simulation genre is more or less dominated by one title, and that’s City Skylines. With the huge success that the developers received after the game’s release in 2015, it was quite obvious that a sequel would be released to capitalize on the popularity and provide fans with more content. Well, on October 24, 2023, Cities Skylines II was released, and so far, it seems that the game has managed to live up to expectations. Developed by Colossal Order Ltd. and published by Paradox Interactive, it is the second title in the Cities Skylines series and the sequel to the first one. Anyway, if you are someone looking for information on how to disable weather in Cities Skylines 2 (II), here’s everything you need to know.

With the release of a sequel, it is expected that more features will be included that the previous game didn’t have. A sequel’s primary objective is to fill the gaps of the first title and bring a fresh new experience for the players to enjoy. When it comes to features, Cities Skylines 2 is jam-packed, but many are wondering where the dynamic weather toggle option is available. This is available in Cities Skylines, so expecting the same option in Cities Skylines 2 is an obvious assumption many players make. But to their surprise, the reality is a bit different.

Cities Skylines 2 (II): How to disable Weather?

As you may have guessed already, the option to disable weather in Cities Skylines 2 is currently not available in the game. Why? Well, that’s something only the developers can answer, and as of now, they haven’t shared any information on the same. Weather in city-builder simulators like this one has a huge impact on the overall functioning of the city, so the ability to turn it off is something many are requesting. However, what you get in-game is the option to toggle the Day/Night cycle to On/Off.

Day/Night Cycle Significance

The sequel has a different time management system in place than its predecessor. It features a day/night cycle along with seasons that affect the climate, length of day, temperature, etc., which in turn determines the weather. So, for the time being, you will have to experience the different weather conditions, or you can try disabling the day/night cycle toggle.

Weather Toggle Feature Release Date?

Well, as no official information has been shared by the developers regarding why the weather toggle is not available in the game or whether this feature will be released anytime soon, we can’t predict the same. But it is possible that the feature will be released sometime later, as the demand for it is increasing day by day.

So, that’s all the information we have regarding how to disable weather in Cities Skylines 2 (II). Unlike most games where weather is just an aesthetic feature, in Cities Skylines 2 (II), it has more significance to the overall gameplay, which is why the option to enable or disable it is essential.
