Call of Duty Warzone download failed error code 6 : How to fix it

COD Warzone error code 6

Call of Duty Warzone is an online FPS game. It does not come as any surprise that the COD franchise has gained splendid popularity after the Modern Warfare and Warzone games were launched. However, it is a bummer to see that players are encountering the error code 6 in COD: Warzone.

There are a few solutions that you can try.

Server Issues

The download error can be due to a server issue. If the server is ongoing maintenance, it can not deliver your game data correctly. Hence, it is natural that you are getting the Error code 6. Go to the Activision website. You can select the game from the drop-down menu on the right side of the screen. Then, scroll down to check the server status for all the platforms. In case there is an issue with the servers, you should find a piece of news right on these pages.

Unresponsive network hardware

Occasionally, an unresponsive router or modem can also interrupt the uniform delivery of network data. Switch off the power supply to your modem or router. Unplug the device and let it sit idle for 30 seconds. Later on, put the plug back on and then wait for the connection to establish. Once all of this is done, launch the COD: Warzone again. Hopefully, the error should no longer persist.

Client blocked by Firewall

At times, it is seen that the Windows defender unintentionally blocks some of the client files. This results in errors that do not have a definite reason. Open the Windows Firewall on your PC. Temporarily disable the firewall protection. Now, launch the game. IF you notice that the error is gone, then add the game client to the whitelist of the Firewall.

Reinstall the game

Unfortunately, there are times when none of the solutions seem to work. This may be due to a missing or corrupt file. The easiest solution, in this case, is to get rid of the game and do a fresh install. The only drawback is that you have to download the game and also install the updates all over again. This might be a huge pinch to your storage space.

Hopefully, one of the above solutions should have resolved the error for you. In case it does not, you can contact the Activision support staff and get help from them.
