Enter the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3

The full version of Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 came out on August 3, 2023, for PC players. Furthermore, a PS5 port is scheduled for release on September 6, later this year. The content featured in the full release is enormous when compared to its early access version. That said, the Underdark biome is one of the most deadly areas where you can get killed in an instant. If you enter this area in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will notice a huge ancient tower that you can visit. This is the Arcane Tower, and you may want to enter this tower and explore what’s inside. However, players are having a hard time entering the tower due to the number of Arcane Turrets that guard it. In this article, we’re going to show you how to enter the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3. Keep reading to find out!

Once you finish the Prologue of Baldur’s Gate 3 and move to Act 1, you’ll stumble across the Underdark biome. While this biome is quite risky owing to the various enemies that lurk inside, you’ll still have to explore it to continue the story. Entering the Arcane Tower is an inseparable part of this exploration. You may also want to enter the tower to collect the loot that is hidden inside. So, without further ado, let us see how to enter this ancient structure.

How to Enter the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Enter the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Arcane Tower is guarded by a number of Turrets that you’ll have to destroy/avoid before entering. You’ll locate the first two turrets when you enter the courtyard of the tower. The first turret is placed at the center of the courtyard, while the second one guards the stairs. You may want to use a Rogue character to get past these turrets due to their high dexterity and sneaking moves. You can sneak behind the turret near the stairs and move forward. Enter the room, and you’ll find two more Arcane Turrets inside. You have to sneak up to the door on the left and open it. Doing so will lead you to the blue mushrooms. Now, all you have to do is use the spell Scroll of Featherfall to jump on the mushrooms until you reach the bottom part of the tower.

Elevator

Once you’re at the bottom, you’ll find out that the generator is not working, and you can’t use the elevator due to this. In order to access other floors in the tower, you’ll need to turn on the generator. Now, once you’ve reached the bottom of the tower, you need to go towards the backside of the building to locate the Sussur Blossoms tree. Pick up the flowers from the tree and walk toward the door. You can lockpick this door or maybe even break inside, depending on what suits you best.

Once you’re inside, you will see the generator that you need to turn on. This is an easy step. Simply interact with the generator and place the Sussur blossoms inside to activate the generator. Doing so will also activate the elevator and disable the Arcane Turrets. Now, you can explore the tower as you see fit, using the elevator to traverse through different floors.

Locating the secret basement

Lastly, you may want to find the secret basement inside the Arcane Tower. You’ll need the Guiding Light Ring for this step. You can collect this ring from the robot NPC named Bernard inside the tower. After you’ve activated the generator, take the elevator one floor up. You can find the Threadbare book here. Read the book to receive the following dialogue choice – “How can I trust? How will ever I know? How can I show myself, my darkest me?” Then, go to the floor just below the top floor of the tower. Read the book inside this floor, and collect the command (or art thou friend…) to pacify Bernard. Following this, head towards the top floor, interact with Bernard, pacify him, and use the “How can I trust…” dialogue choice. Doing so will prompt him to offer you the Guiding Light Ring.

Once you have collected the ring, simply visit the elevator. Inside the elevator, you can now see a secret button if you equip yourself with the Ring. Pressing this button will take you to the secret basement inside the Arcane Tower.

So, this is how you can enter the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3 and also access the Secret Basement. Hopefully, you can now explore the tower after reading this guide. If you enjoyed this article and want to read more such gaming-related content, keep visiting DigiStatement!
