In 2017, Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft launched Assassin’s Creed Origins, an action-adventure video game. After 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, this is the series’ ninth main instalment and the successor to that game. As the story unfolds primarily in Egypt during Ptolemy’s reign, we follow Bayek of Siwa and his wife, Aya, as they explore the origin of a centuries-long conflict between The Hidden Ones, the forerunner of the ascension movement, and The Order of the Ancients, which seeks to achieve peace by imposing their will on the people of Egypt through the imposition of the Templar Order.
What is different about this installment?
A new character, Layla Hassan, appears in scenes set in the 21st century in the tale. Because of Origins’ wide-open environment and “hitbox” fighting system, aspects of role-playing video games were incorporated into the game. Players acquire experience points by completing campaign goals and side missions, exploring new locales, and defeating foes, among other things. With enough experience points, players can level up and unlock new powers. Huntsman, Warrior, and Seer are the three distinct branches of the skill tree. Warriors and Seer both increase the effectiveness of Bayek’s melee powers, while Hunter enhances his ranged abilities. A level is assigned to missions and regions. In order to beat the game’s adversaries, players must first achieve a particular level.
A hidden blade, quiver, stabilizer glove, and tool pouch for Bayek can be created from the resources gathered by hunting wildlife and dismantling gear as well as attacking supply convoys. It is necessary for Bayek to obtain cash by looting and fulfilling quests. It is possible to purchase or upgrade weapons, clothes and mount with coins. In-game payment is required to purchase loot boxes, which contain gears and crafting ingredients. It’s still true that some cosmetic things can only be purchased with real-world currency, which is Helix coins.
Why are Assassin’s Creed Origins players complaining?
Assassin’s Creed Origins players have been sharing their problems on social media platforms like Steam, in the hope to receive a response. A discussion was initiated by @NguyễnHùngCường on Steam stating that they couldn’t log in to Ubisoft connect. To this, many players responded saying that they were facing the same problem. @ayyyymen shared that they got the game but could not launch it. They also added that they thought their login info was wrong. For this reason, they opened 2 new Ubi accounts and none worked.
Luckily, Ubisoft commented with a response that did only intended to confirm if the players were still experiencing the issue. If yes, players were requested to provide more details. While Ubisoft was able to assist some players, the rest did not receive a solution.
Finally, a player shared one solution that worked. They suggest that;
- Gamers must check both windows firewall and anti-virus (if any) to see if the ports are being blocked. The ports needed by Ubisoft can be found in this guide.
- Players must also check their network adapter driver and settings.
- The router firmware must also be checked for updates. It is necessary to make sure that router firmware is properly configured. This is because routers also have built-in firewalls.
- Players can also try to power cycle their modem and router to refresh them.
