Dirt 5 Crashing for players

Dirt 5 crashing for players after 4-5 races has recently become a big matter of concern. Codemasters developed and published Dirt 5, a racing game that focuses on off-road racing. If you want to race on ice, you’ll only be able to do so in New York during the winter. The game also introduces a four-player split-screen mode. There is also a story-driven career mode in Dirt 5, which sets the player character against a rival racer named Bruno Durand in a series of championships. Player Alex “AJ” Janiek is a mentor to the player.

After its release, the game was nominated at The Game Awards 2020 for the category of Best Sports/Racing game. Dirt 5 was praised for its 120 Hz refresh rate. It was also listed among the top 5 games for PS5 by Playstation Official Magazine-UK. Dirt 5 has received many positive reviews that have encouraged players to purchase and enjoy the game. However, gamers are now furious about an issue that seems to be an unresolved bug. So, what is the fix for that?

Dirt 5 crashing for players fix

Not too long after the game was released, players began complaining about the Dirt 5 crashing issue with their PlayStation consoles. This is what one players said;

Hmm. Started loving @dirtgame #Dirt5 but the continuous crashing of the game on #PS5 needs a fix pronto. Even corrupted my save file and cloud back up jumped me back in the game. Cannot recommend Dirt 5 to anyone while it is a broken game.

At the beginning of the year, players had begun complaining about the Dirt 5 crashing issue with the Xbox version of the game. This is what one player said;

DIRT 5 is crashing, causing the Xbox One fat console to force a reboot. I hope you can fix that. I will not continue playing until they resolve.

Current Crashing Status

Now, players have complained that the game runs smoothly without any immediate problem for the first few runs. However, after their fourth game, moving on to the fifth, the entire gameplay crashes and takes the players to the main desktop. Players have discussed this matter extensively on this matter and are seeking help from other players.

In order to fix this issue, players on Steam have suggested multiple methods. Firstly, @Bally850 suggests trying the following; Go to Career -> Re-Roll Event and Career objectives. After this, the player can resume normal gameplay. Another player, @Yo$o shares that their game was fixed by 1. Fullscreen optimization off and, 2. start as admin (Properties of the dirt5.exe). But they are unsure if it works for Rtx cards.

Stay tuned for more updates on Dirt 5 and other gaming-related news and updates
