Armored Core 6 not loading on Steam Deck

If the game keeps failing to load on your Steam Deck, you can refer to the list of workarounds given below –

Free up space

If you’re running low on disk space, it can cause Armored Core 6 to not respond properly on your Deck. So,

  • Press the Steam button and access the Settings menu.
  • Go to Storage and check for games that you can uninstall.
  • Select the specific game and press the X button.
  • Click on Uninstall and repeat this process for the other games that can be uninstalled.
  • Run Armored Core 6 after enough space is freed, and check if it still gets stuck.

Update Steam Deck

  • Refer to the previous workaround to access Steam Deck Settings.
  • Go to System, and then select the “Check for Updates” option.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to update your Steam Deck firmware.
  • Then, launch the game and see if the error persists.

Change Proton compatibility

  • Open the Steam Deck library and select Armored Core 6 from the list. Click the three-line button on your Steam Deck. Remember, this is the physical button that you can find on the body of your handheld PC.
  • Go to Properties, and then open the Compatibility tab.
  • Here, change the Proton version to GE-Proton8-13. You can also select Proton Experimental.
  • Run the game and see if the issue persists.

Verify game files

  • Access the Properties menu for Armored Core 6 by following the steps from the previous workaround.
  • Then, go to Local Files and tap on the “Verify integrity of game files” option.
  • Wait until the check is over, and then run the game. See if the issue persists.

Reinstall Armored Core 6

If you’re still facing the Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon not loading on Steam Deck issue, then uninstall the game from your device. Following this, install the game once again and see if it runs smoothly.

Reset Steam Deck

As a last resort, you can try resetting your device to get rid of this problem.

  • Access the Steam Deck Settings menu as shown previously.
  • Go to the System tab and scroll down.
  • Locate the Factory Reset option and select it.
