The remake of the 2015 released Ark Survival Evolved, Ark Survival Ascended, has received a warm welcome from fans of the series. However, the game’s launch hasn’t been as smooth as the developers, Studio WildCard, would have hoped. With many players facing Fatal errors to unable to connect to server issues, it seems that the legacy of ASE is currently in decline. To top it all off, players are currently complaining about the textures not loading issue in Ark Survival Ascended. So, if you are encountering a similar problem, consider reading this guide until the end for more details on the same.
The key highlights of Ark Survival Ascended have been the improved visual quality and mechanics that ASE lacked. Several aspects of the ARK world have been enhanced in ASA, and the in-game world is now more mesmerizing to look at. However, with the texture not loading issue that many are facing, the whole ASA experience is nullified to the core. So, fixing this should be a top priority for the developers. But is there a fix yet?
Ark Survival Ascended (ASA) Textures Not Loading Issue: Is there any fix yet
The textures not loading issue in Ark Survival Ascended can mainly occur if your system is incapable of handling the game. Also, since the optimization aspect of ASA is not the greatest, having a decent/high-end setup might not even run the game efficiently. Anyway, whatever the reason, you can follow the given workarounds to get rid of this issue:
Check System Requirements
As stated earlier, if your system is not capable of rendering the in-game world efficiently, such issues will occur. So, you have to make sure that the game’s minimum system requirements are met before running it. Below, we have shared the minimum and recommended system requirements of ASA:
Minimum:
- OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, NVIDIA GeForce 1080
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD Required
Recommended:
- OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
- Memory: 32 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD Required
By now, it is quite clear that ASA has very high requirements to run smoothly. So, if your PC fails to meet these, there is no other option but to upgrade it.
Run the game on dedicated GPU
It might be possible that the textures aren’t able to load due to the fact that the game is using your system’s iGPU instead of the dedicated one. So, to ensure that the game uses the dedicated GPU, follow the given steps:
- Type Graphics Settings in the Windows search bar, and select the first result.
- In the Graphics Settings window, click on the Browse option, and head to the game’s installation directory to add its .exe file to the list.
- After doing so, click on ASA and select the Options button.
- Now, click on High-Performance.
- Once done, launch the game, and then check whether the issue persists.
Update your GPU Drivers
If you are using outdated GPU drivers, such issues can occur. So, head over to your GPU manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers for the particular GPU model. Once downloaded, install it, and then restart your PC. You can also update your GPU drivers via the companion application for your GPU.
Lower in-game Settings
Regardless of whether you have a high-end PC with the latest 4090, consider lowering the in-game Graphics settings from High/Epic to Low/Medium. Doing so will reduce the strain on your GPU, and hopefully, it will be able to load the textures efficiently.
Set all Graphics settings to High
If the previous workaround didn’t work, try this method. For this, head over to the game’s settings menu and make sure that the Graphics Quality Preset is set to Epic. Now, go to the main menu and exit the game. After this, close the launcher as well. Next, launch the game and wait for it to load the textures. It may take several minutes, depending on your system’s prowess. Once the textures are loaded, you can lower the in-game settings to get better FPS.
Verify game files
Corrupted game files can also be the reason why the textures aren’t loading properly in the game. So, to fix it, you need to verify the game files. You can do this by accessing the Steam client, heading to Library, and right-clicking on Ark Survival Ascended. Now, select the Installed Files tab, and click on the Verify Integrity of Game files option.
Reinstall the game on SSD
Finally, if you have the game installed on an HDD, now is the time to reinstall it on an SSD. SSDs are way faster than HDDs, so you must make sure that you have installed the game on it.
Well, as of now, these are the workarounds you can try for fixing the textures not loading issue in Ark Survival Ascended. If you find this guide informative, make sure to visit DigiStatement for more such guides. Also read: Ark Survival Ascended (ASA): How to change in-game Language?
