Among Us is one of the most streamed and played games right now. The game quickly garnered attention during the pandemic when people were restricted from going out and spent more time in front of their phones and computers. As it goes with most popular mods, Among Us has been subject to a lot of fan-made mods. Today I’ll tell you about the Among Us Money Mod.
Among Us: A brief history
Among Us a famous online multiplayer game that can basically be found on every other Smartphone and PC. Released in 2018, the game did not take off well initially. However, Among Us quickly rose to the top of most played games charts. This was largely due to popular streamers picking up the game coupled with the abundance of free time on everyone’s hand due to the pandemic. The game also can be played with over 10 players, which helped in the surge of growth for its fanbase.
The game has an extremely unique storyline where we play as one of 4(min)-10(max) players on a map. Of the 10, up to 3 players can be an impostor, the minimum being 1. These numbers can be changed in the lobby settings. The rest of the players are called crewmates. The game’s objective varies with what kind of player you’re assigned. A Crewmate goes about doing tasks, the progress of which can be seen on the taskbar. The Impostor(s) is supposed to roam around the map, faking tasks to not seem suspicious and to kill Crewmates without being caught. The Impostor also has the ability to sabotage different things such as the Oxygen Meter, Reactor where the players need to fix it under a time limit or the game will be over for them. The game also incorporates a voting system, which can be invoked when a dead body is reported, or by calling an emergency meeting.
To win the game for either type of player, they need to stick it to the end of the round. An Impostor needs to be able to kill enough people till they remain with enough players that can be killed by them in the end, at which point the game ends. For 1 impostor it’s 1 person, for 2 it’s 2, etc. There are several nuances to the game. The Crewmates need to complete the tasks, or successfully identify and kick out the Impostors to win the game.
Among Us Money Mod
Among Us, Money Mod is a mod that involves players picking up money that can be found lying around the entire map. Money can also be earned by doing tasks. The money can be used to put bounties on the heads of other Crewmates, which makes them a more profitable target for the Impostors. The Impostors can use the money to bribe other crewmates, turning them into Impostors as well. However, the most important function of money is to use it to vote people out.
