Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (BDSP): How to get 6IVs on any Pokémon?

In the game Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, when you get a Pokémon, you can’t rename it, at least directly. But did you know that there is a glitch that would allow you to rename or give nicknames to any Pokémon, including all the Pokémon that get traded to you by the NPCs or other players? Yes, and you will be able to do all of this anytime you want!

Here is what happens. When you talk to a name rater, he will tell you to rate the name of any Pokémon. And if you rate the name of any Pokémon that is not yours, he will cite the name as an impeccable one and you will not be able to change it.

But if you try to give him one of your own Pokémon, he will cite the name of that Pokémon as a decent one and will let you change it there. Here is what you will do. You will use the glitch that will make the game believe that you will be giving the name to your own Pokémon, whereas you will be giving the nickname to the Pokémon you want!

Here are the steps using which you can do this –

  • You have to come to Eterna City to do this. In the city, you have to find the building where there are the name raters. You can easily locate that building right beside Pokemar in Eterna City. Once you go inside, you will get some name raters.
  • You have to choose the Pokémon you want to give a nickname to and also a Pokémon that you caught on your own. Go to a name rater and make sure to position yourself close to him to do the name-changing stuff.

  • Right here, you have to activate the menu glitch as usual! To do this, go into check summary and hit ZLZR that is a little off. You will then get the menu glitch first try.
  • Next hit B to go out of your main menu. You will know that the glitch is working once you see the overlaps of the menu and you will be able to move as well! But make sure to keep yourself positioned close to the name rater so you know you can talk to him easily.
  • Once you are standing close to him, facing away from him and not hitting anything else, go ahead to the Pokémon option and hit A on that.
  • Now hit left to talk to the name rater and start the dialogue session. You started this stuff by hitting A. Now you have to hit B to get out of the menu.
  • Next, you have to hit R and go over to your own Pokémon. Once you have done that, hit A.
  • Hit A again to move it and hit it again to confirm. You will be moving the Pokémon to the first tier of the menu.
  • Now in the menu section, you will be on the second menu. Here you have to go ahead and hit on your Pokémon again and choose him to change the name. You will be brought back to the first tier of the menu. You have to drag your Pokémon immediately and replace it with the Pokémon you want to change the name of.
  • Once the name rater asks you to give a better name, click on Yes. You can change the name and then hit on Plus on that. Hit A again to finish. You can then hit B to go out of all the menus since the job is done!
