Dead by Daylight is a 5-player asymmetrical multiplayer game. Players have the choice of playing as a killer or a survivor. The game is an intense horror multiplayer experience. The player playing the killer chooses one of the various horror villains in the game, each one of the villains comes with various attributes, powers, and special skills unique to each of them. This provides a massive advantage over the other four survivor players. The one player then must play against the other four players on a given map and hunt them down before they can complete their objectives and escape from the map.
The game receives new content, events, maps, and crossovers consistently. Players can purchase exclusive new DLCs that come with new content like skins, maps, killers, etc.
