Apex Legends has been a popular game. But are you facing the issue where the game does not load? Are you welcomed by a white screen? Is it happening despite opening the game from Origin? While this can be a hampering experience for our gaming, there are ways in which we can solve this error. Read this article as we provide alternatives to solve this Apex Legends error.
Resetting/Editing Video Configuration
Start by pressing the Windows button + E to bring up the Windows File Explorer/Windows File Browser. As this opens up, go to your C Drive (which automatically saves files) as you access the C Drive > Users. From here, select your Username ID and then click on the folder. As the folder opens up, head to Saved Games. This is where you will get to see the Respawn folder. Click on Respawn > Apex > Select Local. As the Local folder opens up, we would be looking for videoconfig.txt. Try to rename the file name. This can often help in resetting the Video Configurations. But is this method not working? We got another alternative.
Checking Read-Only Status
Another method of potentially solving this issue is by going back to the Saved Games folder. This is where we accessed the Respawn folder. This time, right-click on the Respawn folder and open its File Properties. As the Properties box opens up, check Attributes. Notice the Attributes status, and you can notice an option called Read-only. If you see any square or tick-mark in the box, undo the same, and leave it unchecked. Upon selecting OK, we would get another window, which would say
Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files
Click on OK to save the progress.
Other General Alternatives
If these methods are not working, then there are general methods of fixing this:
Updating Graphics Drivers: Often, outdated graphic card drivers can cause this issue. To solve this, look for the updated graphic drivers on the manufacturer’s (AMD or Nvidia) software, where they got the game, ready drivers.
Updating Windows: Your system might often indicate the need for a Windows Update. This can help in potentially solving a lot of bugs. Keep the latest version of Windows to have a seamless gaming experience.
Running Origin as an Admin: Perhaps another method you can look for is opening Origin as an admin. To open this, simply search for Origin from the Start menu and right-click on the same. You will get the option of Run as Administrator. This can potentially solve the Apex Legends error.
