Fake Slides on the web reveal NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Performance

The Internet is an open space and we can consume whatever we wish to and upload on it whatever we wish to. However, the traffic of content on the web is such that it can get extremely difficult to find what is legit and what is not. Fabricated and manipulated content is not very difficult to produce and is seen to travel around at a lightning pace. Today we came across an apt example of this in our Technology space. The launch of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 Series is yet to go online (just a few hours) and a leak from their presentation is circulating on the web. FAKE Slides presenting stats on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 are doing rounds and many sources around the world fell for this cheap trick.

Fake Slides comment on GeForce RTX 3090 Performance

On first glance, there is hardly anyone who could doubt that these are not from NVIDIA. However, a few minutes of magnified speculation and you should be able to decode that these really are NOT from NVIDIA. The Green and Grey colour scheme is ditto NVIDIA and serves perfectly well as clickbait for wandering eyes. These twofold slides reveal information about the DXR (Raytracing) performance of the GPU. The next slide highlights the shader core count and memory volume. Now in each and every leak or release, we have encountered till date, there is a very specific mention of the NVIDIA Founders Edition featuring 5248 CUDA cores. The slides clearly miss out on the CUDA part, which an experienced customer like NVIDIA would never miss out on.

Discrepancy with Bar Graph presenting NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series comparison

It was felt sufficient to deem these slides fake on observing the unfamiliar fashion in which the bars of the graph were organized. This facade was created on Twitter when a user by the handle yuten0x posted these pictures. Most of those who replied to the tweet seemed to have believed it. But a certain discord member of Coreteks was behind the slides as was confirmed by Coreteks. Do you smell anything fishy? Anyways, NVIDIA’s launch will still be streamed with baited breaths.
