Samsung is a pioneer Korean tech brand that was founded in the 1940s. The brand has faced its ups and downs, been through several controversies. When the huge transition took place where touch-screen mobiles replaced the keypad type mobiles, Samsung was one of the few companies that took a big, falling hit. But years later, finally, Samsung rises again with the greatest announcement made, a promise to be precise.
Samsung officially unveiled five new devices yesterday- Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Buds Live, and Galaxy Watch 3. Both the smartphones and Tab series are premium ranged, flagship devices, pressing users to vouch for a thousand dollars at a go. As the world wonders what the emphasizing features would be, the Korean company just promised a guaranteed release of three generations of Android OS update.
Three Android updates confirmed for these Samsung devices
It is not three years of update or a promise based on device eligibility. Samsung has promised to roll out three generations of OS updates starting from Android 11. The Note 20 series, Tab S7 series, and the Z Fold 2 will be out for sale with OneUI 2.5 OS based on Android 10. For all three of these devices, users will receive software updates up to Android 13.
Another important news is that these plans not only are for the mentioned devices. A brand like Samsung would only step higher if every smartphone produced is constantly checked and listed for developments. Therefore, it is also revealed that the three-gen OS update policy applies to flagship devices from Galaxy S10 onward. So, this must include the Galaxy S10 series itself, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy S20 series, and Galaxy Z Flip. Hence, users who have already spent thousands of dollars have nothing to regret!
Till yesterday, Google was the only company to release three generations of OS updates as promised. OnePlus devices do not come with a guarantee, but the developers do work on three OS updates based on the hardware of the device and its capacity. But Samsung joins Google in not just pushing updates, but as a promising competitor in the tech world.
