Hexworks’ Lords of the Fallen is the latest Soulslike to come out in 2023, and so far, it’s good. But that’s from the gameplay perspective of things. When you take a look at the performance side, that’s where you start seeing cracks in the game. LotF has a lot of optimization and performance issues that need to be fixed immediately, and a major one happens to be the texture not loading issue.
Now, we don’t really know what the main cause of this issue is, but due to this, players are unable to properly enjoy the game as the in-game visuals don’t load. LotF is one gorgeous game, but this issue is not helping in that regard. So, is there a fix yet? Well, continue reading to find out!
Lords of the Fallen (LotF) Textures Not Loading Issue: Is there any fix yet
Well, since there has been no acknowledgement from the developers regarding this issue, an official fix has not been released yet. So, in the meantime, you can try out the following workarounds:
Restart the game –
Let’s start with the most obvious fix. Perform a restart of the game first and see if it helps with resolving this issue. If not, then move on to restarting your PC or the console itself. If even that doesn’t yield any helpful results, try out another workaround.
Update drivers –
To deal with all kinds of performance and visual issues, it’s best to keep your GPU drivers updated. Now, you can do this by either getting drivers from the official Nvidia or AMD website or through the companion app. Check if the issue persists once you have updated your drivers.
Validate game files –
This issue could be a result of missing or corrupted game files. So, what we recommend is to validate your game files. If you have the game on Steam, go to Library and right-click on the game to select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. For those on Epic Games, start the launcher and click on Library. Now, select the three dots on LotF and select Manage > Verify. After the verification, launch the game, and check whether the textures load.
Lower visuals –
Players can also try increasing/decreasing the in-game visual quality to see if it helps with getting rid of this issue. Start by lowering the resolution and setting most of the graphical options to either medium or low. Additionally, if you want, switch to windowed mode instead of keeping the game on full screen. If that didn’t work, try the exact opposite and turn all the settings to Ultra. Doing so might get rid of this issue.
Update –
A lot of patch updates have been released since the game’s launch. If you still haven’t updated the game, it’s highly suggested that you do so immediately. Besides possibly resolving this issue, the latest patch can also help to deal with other bugs and issues.
Move the game to your SSD –
While the game does support HDD, the preferred option is SSD. So, if you have both HDD and SSD installed and the game happens to be on the HDD, move it to the SSD. This is guaranteed to give you a much better performance than what you have been getting before on HDD.
