Officially released on November 18, 2022, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the newest entry to the ninth-generation mainline Pokemon titles. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the game sold a whopping 22 million copies by March 2023. And now, Gamefreak has finally released the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero storyline pack. Called The Teal Mask, this DLC is now available for purchase and play. There are new Pokemon introduced with this DLC, along with many returning ones who didn’t make the cut in the base game. Besides Pokemon, the DLC also offers a lot of new items for players to try out. And this guide will focus on one of those new items, Mochi.
Items in Pokemon games, especially the mainline ones, play an important role in battles. Through their use, you can heal your Pokemon, give them various other effects, and even alter their stats. So, what does the Mochi item do in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Teal Mask DLC? Let’s find out!
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (SV) All Mochi List, Effects & How to get them (Teal Mask DLC)
For the uninitiated, Mochi is a real-life food that’s quite popular in Japan. So, it was only evident that the developers would include it as an item in the game. When consumed in-game, these increase the base points of a Pokemon’s stats. This can prove highly effective when going against tough bosses and in some other difficult situations too. The following table will let you know everything there is to learn about mochi:
MOCHI NAME |
ITEM TYPE |
EFFECT |
WHERE TO GET |
Fresh-Start Mochi | Vitamin | Removes all base points previously gained. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
Swift Mochi | Vitamin | Boosts 10 base points in speed stat. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
Clever Mochi | Vitamin | Boosts 10 base points in Special Defense stat. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
Genius Mochi | Vitamin | Boosts 10 base points in Special Attack stat. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
Resist Mochi | Vitamin | Boosts 10 base points in Defence stat. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
Muscle Mochi | Vitamin | Boosts 10 base points in Attack stat. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
Health Mochi | Vitamin | Boosts 10 base points in HP stat. | Reward from Ogre Oustin’ minigame. |
One thing you may have realized by now is that all these are only obtainable from the Ogre Oustin’ minigame. You can get access to Ogre Oustin’ at the Festival of Masks. The minigame basically revolves around the trainer riding on top of either Miraidon or Koraidon and then popping ogre balloons on a course. That’s all, really. Besides mochi, players can also obtain berries, tera shards, and exp candy.
