High on Life, a sci-fi shooting game from Squanch Games is gaining popularity and interest. The best way to explain it is probably as an adventure game with talking weaponry. However, modern video games are often plagued by bugs and crashes, and other problems. This article’s focus is on a problem that many High on Life players are facing, the Dx12 Startup error.
There may be problems with the DirectX version of your PC that cause this error to appear in the game. Due to this, every time the game is launched, a dialogue box displays this error message, thereby restricting their access to playing the game. This article is just for you if you are having a similar problem because it will show you how to resolve the DirectX 12 error in High on Life.
High On Life Dx12 Start Up Error: Is there any fix yet?
First things first, the developers have not acknowledged this issue and neither has there been a formal patch for this problem. However, we managed to find a workaround that might get rid of this issue for good. This fix involves launching the game using DirectX 11, instead of 12. If you don’t know how to do this, don’t worry. Follow these steps and you will be playing High on Life, in no time.
For starters, you need to go to the location where the game is installed. To do so, open the Steam client on your PC. Next head over to the “Library” section. Select and right-click on “High on Life” and select “Manage” from the drop-down menu, here you will see the “Browse in-game files” option. Click on it to get access to the location where the game is installed. Now select and right-click on the game’s .exe file, click “Send to” and select the Desktop option.
Now, go to the desktop, select and right-click on the shortcut of the game you just created. Select “Properties” and head over to the “Shortcut” tab. In the shortcut tab, you will see the “Target” box. Click on the box to type and add “-dx11” at the end of the line. For example, “.exe{space}-dx11”. Now, save and exit. Launch the game via this shortcut and the problem should now be solved.
With that, we have come to the end of this tutorial. We hope that you found it to be helpful and for more awesome guides, tips, and tutorials like this, stay tuned to Digistatement. Peace and happy gaming!
