Is there a fix for the Unable to Save Error in Football Manager 2023?
There might be a few internal bugs in Football Manager 2023 that devs might’ve overlooked and these have been causing issues with saving. Anyways, after investigating the issue, a few temporary workarounds have been found that will help you save the game. FM 23 will need a few more updates to fix all the issues, however, if you can’t wait that long, see the steps below to fix it.
Save the game to a different location
If you’re unable to save your progress in Football Manager 2023, then the internal bugs might be the cause of this. By default, the game save location should be in this path – C:\Users\Your Windows Username\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023\games. Try saving the game in a different drive by launching FM23 and then selecting “Save As”. Here, you can change the save game location preference as well and it might help you in your case. Go to your FM preference, use the search box, type the location, and pick the location you wish to save from now on. If that didn’t help, then see the next fix below.
Use Cloud Save
Sometimes the game can manifest issues in unusual ways like the unable to save error in Football Manager 2023. If traditional local saves aren’t working in your case, you can opt for cloud saves. This way you can determine whether there is an issue with saving your game on disk or the game itself. If you’re using any unofficial apps with the game, try closing them as they most probably are not supported.
Add the game to the exception
Another reason why Football Manager 2023 is fetching the unable to save error might be because your Antivirus program is blocking the game. To solve this issue, add the game to the exception list or try disabling your Antivirus. Now, play the game for a few minutes and try saving.
