ZTE introduces Axon A20, world’s first smartphone with In-Screen selfie camera

The rate at which smartphones are evolving is very impressive. With evolution, comes trends, some persist, some don’t. Today we are looking at ZTE as they attempt to become the trendsetters of a new style in the smartphone industry. Primarily specialising in telecommunication services, the Chinese brand is set to unveil the first-ever device with In-Screen Selfie Camera. The 5G enabled device will be sold under the ‘Axon’ wing and will be called the Axon 20. In the recent past, ZTE has made itself synonymous to innovation. It created milestones by launching the world’s first foldable dual-screen smartphone and first naked-eye 3D display smartphone.

ZTE Axon 20; A complete flagship or just a new innovation?

The phone will be unveiled in an online event scheduled for September. In the past few years, the selfie camera position has been amongst the most dynamic and changing components of a smartphone. We expect the notches and punch-holes to be a thing of history sooner than later. The latter pleases me on a personal level and I do believe it will outlast the notch idea. The uninterrupted display that ZTE will provide you with will be a 6.92 inch, AMOLED display. For a brand that has gone the distance to design an in-screen selfie camera, you feel ZTE could have been more generous and done better than that 1080p panel. Hidden beneath the skin, will be a 32 MP camera complemented by a 64MP sensor, facing the rear.

ZTE is all set to launch the Axon A20 online on 1st September, 2020.

Most other specs are unknown for now, but ZTE is self-reliable in terms of processors. Speculations suggest that the ZTE A2121 octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz will fuel the device. In the flagship bracket, it won’t go head-on against the giants given the rumours, that it runs on Snapdragon 756G chipset. But that did not stop ZTE from releasing an amazing promo video for the Axon 20 5G. It is evident that they will be capitalizing on the uninterrupted display, the USP of the device, but it is a smart jibe at other brands and smartphones.
