There are a lot of fun games to play on the Xbox console, but for many players, a certain issue has become quite a massive hurdle. Yes, we are indeed talking about the Xbox Live Core services error that many players are facing. And it’s not a minor issue that you can just brush off. So something as major as this will need a guide like this one, of course.
The reason this issue is so serious is due to the fact that it’s making users unable to load a game. For whatever reason, the console just keeps giving out Xbox Live Core Services-related errors. Now this can be due to some server-related thing, or it could just be the console itself. Nevertheless, you are here to find a fix, and we will give you some. So, without much further ado, let’s see how you can fix the Xbox Live Core service error.
Xbox Live Core services issues error: How to fix it?
Players can follow the workarounds mentioned below to fix this issue. Try not to skip unless you have already tried a workaround before.
Check Status –
Whenever you get any Xbox Live Core service-related issue on your console, first and foremost check the server status. You can do that by visiting this Xbox Status webpage. If everything’s green and the status says Up and running, then you will need to try something else.
Power cycle the console –
For some players, power cycling their consoles is what fixed the issue. If you have yet to try this, do so and find out if the issue remains. As for those who don’t know what power cycling means or don’t know how to do that, just follow the instructions below –
- Close all applications or games on your console and turn it off.
- Next, unplug the console and keep it that way for about two minutes or so.
- Once two minutes are over, plug in the console and turn it back on.
- Now check if the issue persists.
Clear MAC address –
You can also try clearing the MAC address and then power cycling the console. It’s one of the recommended workarounds for this issue, so give it a try. To clear your console’s MAC address, you just need to –
- Open Settings and then head to Network Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Next, click on the Alternative MAC Address option and then Clear.
- After the MAC address is cleared, power cycle the console.
Check NAT type –
In case the previous method doesn’t work, we suggest checking your NAT type. And it’s pretty easy to check that. Just open Settings and head to Network Settings. Following that, click on NAT type and see if it’s open. If it isn’t then you will need to open ports by contacting your ISP. The following ports are the ones that need to be opened –
- UDP Port 88
- UDP and TCP Port 3074
- UDP and TCP Port 53
- TCP Port 80
- UDP Port 500
