WWE 2K22 is one of the addictive wrestling games that gets your adrenaline pumping and captivates you with its unique movesets of different wrestlers in the game. It has fluid gameplay, beautiful visuals, and customization that lets you have a wonderful experience as a wrestler. You can further enhance the experience by having a friend or two in co-op mode. The game has been released for major platforms, including PC. However many people are having a hard time running the game with crashes and launch issues that is present in the PC port. How to fix WWE 2K22 issues on PC.
If you got the game and are experiencing frequent crashes, black screen launch issues, and other errors, do not worry as we’ve mentioned several fixes that’ll solve the issue.
Restart your PC.
We’ve mentioned this fix a lot of times in many of our articles and it often fixes most of the problems in the game. Simply restart your PC and then try launching the game and see if it fixes anything. If it doesn’t, see the next step.
Change refresh rate to 60Hz
Changing the refresh rate can sometimes fix the black screen or other issues of a game, especially WWE 2K22. Simply click on the Start menu and then “Settings”. Go to “System” and click on “Display”. Now, scroll down until you see “Advanced Display Settings” and click on it. In the refresh rate section, change it to 60Hz and launch the game.
Open WWE 2K22 in windowed mode using the config file.
You can try launching the game in windowed mode through a config file to fix the issues of WWE 2k22. To do so, open File Explorer and go to “Documents” on the left side of the window. Now, open the WWE 2k22 folder and right-click on the config.ini file, and open it with Notepad. Edit the values and under the windowed section, change the “windowed = no” option to “yes”. After this, click on File, and then click on “save”. Now, try launching the game to check if the issue persists.
Run the game in dedicated GPU
If you’re playing the game on a laptop with a dual graphics card, chances are the game is using the Integrated GPU. To fix it, type “graphics settings” in the start menu and open it. Click on browse and locate the game.exe where you’ve installed the game and click on “Add” once you found it. Click on the game and click on Options and set it to “high performance” and click on “Save”. Launch the game and check if the game is working or not.
Delete save data.
You can delete the saved data to fix any issues with WWE 2k22, however, be warned that you’ll lose your all progress after doing so. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\1113942969\1255630\remote and delete the files that are inside it. After this, reboot your PC and launch the game.
Remove config file and launch the game.
Open File Explorer, Go to documents, and in the WWE 2K22 folder, open and delete the config file. After this, restart your PC and launch the game.
Disconnect multiple monitors & unplug all devices
If you have multiple monitors in your setup, try running the game on a single monitor. Also make sure to unplug all USB devices, wheels, joystick, gamepad, wheel, etc. Also make sure to disable software like Razer Synapse, MSI Dragon Center, Corsair software. You should also end “nahimic services” and lightingservice.exe via the Task Manager to see if the game works fine.
Perform a clean installation of GPU drivers.
If you’re experiencing frequent crashes in WWE 2k22, perform a clean installation of your GPU drivers. Go to AMD or Nvidia website and select your GPU model, OS, and click on search. The website will fetch the latest drivers for your GPU. Now, download the latest drivers by clicking on the “Download” button. Run the .exe file of the driver you just downloaded and proceed with the installation. After the installation is completed, reboot your PC and launch the game.
Run the game in Administrator mode.
Right-click on the game that is located in your Steam library, and then select “Manage” and “Browse local files”. This will take you into the game’s installation directory. Run the game from there. However, if it doesn’t work, right-click on the game’s .exe file and select “Properties”. Select the “Compatibility” tab and check the “Run this program as an administrator” option. Now, click on “Apply” and then “ok” and launch the game.
Verify game files.
If the game still refuses to run, it might be because of corrupt or missing files. Well, this can be easily fixed by verifying game files via Steam. To do so, right-click on the game, select “Properties”, click on the “Local Files” tab, and click on “Verify integrity of game files”. Let the process complete and launch the game.
Rollback the graphics driver to the previous version.
Visit the official website of your GPU manufacturer- Nvidia or AMD and download the older version of your GPU drivers and install them.
Update Windows
Go to Settings and click on “Update & Security” and click on “Check for Updates”. Install the latest updates and reboot your PC.
Allow game’s .exe to antivirus
Sometimes antivirus detects the game’s .exe file as a malicious file and blocks it. Make sure to add the exception of WWE 2k22 in your antivirus software.
Disable Steam Overlay & close all overlay apps.
Head to Steam and right-click on the game in Steam library and select “Properties”. Uncheck the “Enable Steam Overlay while in-game” and launch the game. Also make sure to close other overlay applications like Discord and GeForce experience, MSI Afterburner, and Rivatuner.
Download and install Visual C++ drivers
Go to this link to download all the versions of Visual Studio. Click on the “repair” or “install” button for every version and let it complete. Restart the PC after you’ve done installing every driver.
Perform clean boot
Type “system configuration” in the windows search box and click on the app. Head to the Services tab and check the box that says “Hide all Microsoft services” and click on “Disable all”. After this, click on “Apply” and “Ok”. Reboot your PC and launch the game.
Lower the resolution and graphics settings.
If you’re able to launch WWE 2k22, press alt+enter and then lower the resolution and graphics setting of the game by going to Options and selecting “Extra” and Graphics settings. Change the screen resolution and reduce the graphics quality to medium/low and press the Space key to save the changes.
Reinstall the game to a different drive.
If all of the methods didn’t work for you, install the game to a different drive. In your Steam library, right-click on the game, select “Manage” and click on “Uninstall”. Delete the game folder from the game’s installation path, reboot your PC. After the reboot, reinstall the game to a different drive and your issue will be fixed.
