Why are PUBG Mobile Lite servers down? | Tencent’s Official Statement

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole. Tencent Studios developed the mobile version of the popular battle royale game. Currently, PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular mobile game with millions of active users. PUBG MOBILE LITE uses Unreal Engine 4 and builds on the original PUBG MOBILE gameplay to create action-packed Arena Mode matches lasting 10 minutes or less. The streamlined game requires only 500 MB of free space and 1 GB of RAM to run smoothly.

Recently, a lot of players are reporting about a notification that appears when they try to play PUBG Mobile Lite. The notification mentions that all the Tencent gaming titles will be temporarily suspended and will not be available to play for a day. The temporary suspension of the servers starts 12:00 AM, April 4 till 12:00 AM April 5.

So, what’s happening? Why is Tencent shutting down servers for a day?

Well, Tencent Games has posted the reason for doing this on the official Weibo handle. According to the official statement, this decision, to suspend all its services for one day, has been taken to honor and offer condolences to those who have martyred in the fight against novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Below, you can check out the English translation of the official statement by Tencent Games.

“To express deep condolences to the martyrs and compatriots who died in the fight against New Crown Pneumonia, Tencent Games will be suspended for one day from 0:00 on April 4 thin, including mainland China and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions. May the dead rest in peace, may the living work hard, and may the motherland flourish.”

Also, we request all our viewers to respect this decision and offer condolences to those who have martyred.
