French video game development studio, DRAMA, is creating a lot of buzz around their debut title – Unrecorded. A tactical fps game, its early gameplay trailer has everyone talking about it. One simple look at that trailer and you can guess why it’s getting so much attention from all the gaming media outlets. Unrecord’s hyper-realistic graphics are making gamers praise the capabilities of modern gaming to the point where some are even doubting the game’s legitimacy. But that’s a thing we can check for later once we have an official demo available to play. On the other hand, after seeing that early gameplay trailer for the game, many gamers are asking if Unrecord will have a VR mode upon its full release.
VR has advanced a lot in these past years thanks to more game support and quite good products. But despite that, it remains a niche genre. One which not many developers are keen to experiment with. A major reason behind why this is the cost of buying a VR device. The PSVR 2 alone costs more than the PS itself. If someone wants a good VR device, they need to be willing to part with a considerable amount of money. And that is something not many people are willing to do. Just think about it. Would you rather buy a VR headset or a console for the same price? However, there are still gamers who are keen to try VR as it provides a new mode of gaming to them. And Unrecord’s gameplay certainly fits what VR games go for. So, is there an Unrecord VR Mode release date? Let’s find out!
Unrecord VR Mode Release Date: When is it coming
At this point in time, we don’t have an official release window for a VR mode in Unrecord. Currently, it is in a very early stage of development according to the developers. The studio further clarified on its website that they don’t plan to release Unrecord this year as they are currently looking for investors and publishers for their game. Along with that, the game doesn’t even have a fixed release date. By this, we can safely guess that it would be a long time before Unrecord is released, and eventually include a VR mode(if the devs even consider it).
Something we would like to add is that, since the launch of the early gameplay trailer, lots of people had the wrong idea about Unrecord being a VR game. This is mostly due to the police-cam type of effect the game utilizes. The trailer had many confused, which led to the developers officially confirming on the Steam page that Unrecord was not a VR game at all.
“ The game is developed on Unreal Engine 5, and the game footage is captured from an executable and played using a keyboard and mouse. It is not a VR game.”
This was stated by the devs on April 20 after the game’s trailer received much-deserved attention. Anyways, we recommend players to not hold their breath for Unrecord, or any news regarding a VR mode for it. It would be at least a year before we get anything substantial, like a playable demo. If something like that does happen, we will get this article updated. For now, don’t forget to visit Digistatement to get the latest updates on new game releases.
