On April 18, Riot Forge released a brand new single-player game called The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story. Made in partnership with the makers of Moonlighter, Digital Sun, the game is an action-RPG title. The story of the game revolves around Sylas, a mage now freed from his captivity and on a dangerous mission to free Demacia from its invaders. Unlike Ruined King, this is a 2D hack-and-slash game that features RPG elements. Reviews for the game are solid across the board, with critics giving special mention to the deep story and fluidity of the combat. Digital Sun has done an amazing job on the game, but it does have some unfortunate issues. Well, players have been reporting that their skins are not unlocking at all during their playthroughs. So, in this article, we will dive deep into this issue and share details on whether there is a fix for it yet.
The Mageseeker is Digital Sun’s next game after Moonlighter. And by the looks of it, they have gone quite masterful in crafting games. Riot has been collaborating with indie studios in order to branch out their League IP. Ruined King is also among those titles made in collaboration with the Airship Syndicate of Battle Chasers: Nightwar fame. Judging by the success of these spin-offs, we are confident that more spin-offs will come in the future. As good as Mageseeker is, issues like skins not unlocking can be annoying for players. So, let’s find out if there are any possible fixes for it.
The Mageseeker A League of Legends Story Skins not unlocking Issue: How to fix
There are currently three skins available for Sylas. These skins are available after you purchase the Unchained Skins Pack. As the name suggests, the skins are for Sylas’s Unchained Mode. Named Crimson Sylas Skin, Fallen Sylas Skin, and Prismatic Sylas Skin, you need to have purchased the base game to acquire them. RiotBean, a developer on the Mageseeker team, has been answering player queries since the game’s launch. And on the Steam discussion page, they clarified that those three skins are only obtainable after the player completes the “Sacred Woods” mission and meets Morgana. So, complete the mission first. Additionally, if you have completed the mission and are still facing the issue, you can try the following fixes:
Verify the integrity of game files –
Sometimes game files have their own issues like going missing or getting corrupted. You can easily solve this by verifying your game files on Steam. You just need to open Steam, go to Library, and look for “The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story ” name. Right-click on the game and select Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.
Restart the game –
A simple fix is restarting the game. This seems to be working for some players facing the same issue, so you give this method a try. After you are done completing the Sacred Woods mission, restart the game, and then check if the skins are enabled.
Start a new run –
Your current run might have some specific issues which could be the cause behind the skins not unlocking. You can try and start a new playthrough and see if the skin issue is still there.
We will be sure to update this article once the devs release an update to fix it. Meanwhile, don’t forget to check out DigiStatement to get the latest updates on the gaming world.
