Samar Studio’s The Front is currently enjoying a good run, with player numbers mostly staying above or at the 10,000 mark. And if the studio wants to keep it that way, then it needs to constantly address the many issues that are affecting the game. Recently, many players have started to complain about the Access Denied error in The Front and, as such, are hoping for a quick fix from the devs. Well, if you too are encountering a similar problem, here’s what you need to know.
The issue here seems to be that whenever the players try to start the game, it will simply give a popup saying Access Denied. Why does this happen? We’ve got no clue, as the reasons aren’t limited to one. But this issue isn’t allowing the players to even start the game. If this continues, then there are high chances that we will soon start seeing player numbers drop. So, has Samar Studio released a fix? Continue reading to find out!!
The Front Game Access Denied Error: Is there any fix yet
For now, players can try the following workarounds, as Samar Studio is yet to acknowledge this error. Try not to skip these unless you have already tried them once.
Switch ACE to manual –
As mentioned here, if ACE or Anti Cheat Experts’ service is disabled, this can result in the occurrence of this issue. The simple solution is to just switch the startup type of this service from disabled to manual. So, to do this, open the Run box by pressing Windows + R. Now type in services.msc and hit enter. Look out for the service named AntiCheatExpert, and on the right, see if it’s disabled. If indeed it is, then double-click on it, and just change the Start-Up type to Manual. Now, launch the game.
Validate files –
One of the many causes behind this error could be that the game has some files that are either missing or corrupted. Validating files is the only way to fix that. So, to do this:
Steam –
- Open Steam and click on Library.
- Find The Front and right-click on the game to select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
- Restart your PC after the verification is done.
Epic –
- Open Epic Games Launcher and select Library from the left panel.
- Click on the three dots on the game’s tile and select Manage > Verify.
- Start the game, once the game files are validated and repaired.
Add the game as an exception in your antivirus –
It seems like, for most players, the problem here lies with their antivirus blocking the game from running. So, the best thing to do here is to simply add the game as an exception to your antivirus. For Windows Defender users, what you need to do is:
- Open Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection.
- Now, in the new window, scroll down and click on Virus and Threat Protection Settings. Once again, scroll down, and this time, click on Add or remove exclusions. When prompted for admin access, give it.
- Now, click on the Add an Exclusion button and add the game to the exclusion list.
As for players who are using another antivirus, you will need to do the same thing there, although the process will be quite different. If you find this too tedious, consider disabling the antivirus program while running the game.
Run the game in admin mode –
You can also try running the game in admin mode and then see if the issue persists. So, to do that first right-click on the .exe file or shortcut of The Front and select Properties > Compatibility. Now, checkmark or tick the Run this program as an administrator option. End the process by clicking Apply and OK. You can now start the game.
Reinstall –
When nothing else works, try reinstalling the entire game. Just delete all the files and start a new download. Once it’s installed, start The Front and check whether the issue persists.
Well, that’s the extent of our knowledge on this particular issue for now. However, The Front players can’t seem to catch a break since we have also seen complaints about not being able to change the resolution in the game. Don’t worry, though! We do have a guide on that too. Click here for more details. Lastly, don’t forget to check out DigiStatement for more guides like this.
