The Elder Scrolls Online Necrom Stuck at Download Issue Is there any fix yet

Elder Scrolls Online is a game that has, for ages, defined the open-world RPG genre. It is possible that you have heard about Skyrim or Morrowind, as these are cult classics and are still played to this day. But we are not going to talk about those; in fact, we will be focusing on an error that has been plaguing the players of The Elder Scrolls Online. Actually, a new DLC chapter for ESO named Necrom has been released recently. So, players who bought it are more than excited to experience the new content. However, the DLC download has been stuck for a lot of players. And since you are reading this article, we assume you are facing the same problem. Let us see if there is any fix yet for this.

Elder Scrolls Online is an MMORPG. The franchise in itself is popular, and the online MMORPG has managed to please its fan base since its release back in 2014. But how did they manage to do so? The thing is, the universe of Elder Scrolls is absolutely overloaded with deep, engaging lore, which gives the developers a lot of options for new plots. So, instead of a new game, Bethesda can simply drop a DLC expansion pack to the base game with additional content. Likewise, we have the new Necrom chapter introduced to ESO, which was released on the 5th of June. But as we mentioned earlier, some players are having problems downloading the Necrom update for the game.

According to the reports of players facing this problem on the game’s official discussion forums on Steam, the game’s update gets downloaded smoothly until it hits a particular percentage mark and then stops completely. This percentage mark can be different for different players. But unfortunately, as of writing this article, there is no official fix for this error yet. There are, however, a few things that you can try. Keep in mind that these are just potential workarounds and not guaranteed fixes. Still, in the absence of an official fix, you don’t have many options but to try out these potential workarounds.

Reboot the system

In case of any errors, the first thing to do is turn off the system completely and restart it after some time. While you are at it, make sure that your internet is working fine; you can restart your router as well.

Verify Game files

If some game files are missing on your system, it can trigger such issues as well. So, we recommend verifying the game files via Steam and then updating the game to add the Necrom chapter. To verify game files, head to the Steam client, open Library, and right-click on ESO. Now, select the Properties option and click on the Local Files tab. After this, select the Verify Integrity of game files option.

Wait, then try reinstalling

Finally, it may be wise to wait a while while the download process is stuck. Some players have reported that the download was stuck for some time, after which the patching process began and it was successfully downloaded. Therefore, wait some time to see if the patching process begins. If you think you have waited enough, reinstalling the game is the last resort.

Well, those are some workarounds you can try to successfully download the Necrom chapter in ESO. Anyway, that is all for this guide. We hope it was helpful. For more gaming reads, follow Digistatement.
