Tales of the Shire A The Lord of The Rings Game Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go & Asus Rog Ally Support Details

If you’re a Lord of the Rings fan and were left disappointed by the debacle that was The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which cast a shadow over Tolkien’s epic world, we have good news for you. A new game, Tales of the Shire, offers the chance to play as a Hobbit and live a peaceful, cozy life in the Shire! Fortunately, this game isn’t from the developers or publishers behind the Gollum mishap, which has fans optimistic. Now, you’re probably here to find out if Tales of the Shire is supported by popular handheld devices like the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go. Let’s get into that!

Handheld gaming is becoming increasingly popular, with new contenders like Acer’s Nitro Blaze 7 recently announced, promising to give the Steam Deck some serious competition. Casual life sims have arguably been the go-to genre for many handheld gamers, with their relaxing gameplay perfectly suited for portable devices. So, the big question is: will Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game work on devices like the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go? Any official news on that front? Don’t worry, we’ve got all the details for you.

Tales of the Shire A The Lord of The Rings Game Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go & Asus Rog Ally Support Details

As of writing this article, Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game is not officially supported on handheld devices like the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, or Lenovo Legion Go. There are several reasons for this. First, the game still has no confirmed release date or even a release window, with its Steam page simply stating “Coming Soon”. This means the developers are likely still refining details, including platform compatibility. Additionally, the game does not yet have a Steam Deck Verified badge. Most importantly, there’s no system requirements section available for the game at this stage. Without this, it’s impossible to gauge how well the game will perform on handheld hardware. For now, it’s simply too early to speculate or share information on whether the game will run on these devices, but rest assured that more information will become available closer to launch.

Will it be supported?

So here is the hopeful news! A demo version of the game was played by Polygon as a regular playtest. Interestingly, while the demo was tested on a Windows PC, Polygon also experimented with streaming it to a Steam Deck. During their testing, Polygon reported that Tales of the Shire streamed to the Steam Deck without significant issues, indicating promising performance on the device. While they did not conduct a full performance analysis or run the game natively on the Deck, with the initial experience, it’s reasonable to speculate that Tales of the Shire should work on the Steam Deck, given its simple graphics, once officially released. If it performs well on the Steam Deck, chances are high that it will run even better on more powerful handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, both of which boast stronger hardware.

We hope your doubts are somewhat cleared now. If you find this article informative, consider visiting DigiStatement first for more such interesting content on all things gaming. Also, before you leave, click here to find out if Dale and Dawson Stationery Supplies works on these handheld devices.
