The industry has changed a lot over the last few years. VR tech and more emphasis on indie titles have been the norm for a while now. Over the last few years, a lot of titles have started to support VR. This pattern is because VR isn’t a novelty anymore. A lot of people are buying VR headsets. A simple Google search reveals how popular this truly is. VR looks like it’s here to stay for good and we’re glad because this is good for gaming. Developers have already started to experiment with VR tech and produce unique and compelling video games. This has also helped people discover an entire library of underrated gems. Another underrated gem that should be on a lot of people’s lists for this month is Survival: Fountain of Youth.
Survival: Fountain of Youth is a single-player open-world survival game, currently released on Steam in early access. It’s set in the Caribbean islands where players get to helm a protagonist who also happens to be a 16th-century explorer whose ship gets wrecked and must craft tools and shelters, and discover the secrets of an ancient civilization. The wonderful artwork is sure to draw in even the most pessimistic people. Players will have to hunt for food, replenish by sleeping, and even be careful of venomous snakes & scorpions. Doing all of that in VR sounds even better. The immersive nature of the game made a lot of people wish for the game to have VR support. But, is it coming?
Survival Fountain of Youth VR Mode Release Date: Is it coming?
To put it quite simply – no. Not yet, at least. Unfortunately, as of now, there is no VR release date scheduled for the game, but the developers did state that they’re open to implementing it in the future. When news of VR making its way into gaming first broke, opinions were divisive, to say the least. We have seen companies promise on delivering VR titles, and stand true to them. We’ve also seen companies fail to deliver. However, the hype around VR may be justified. Statistics show that there is a considerable amount of demand for VR headsets. Despite the promising signs, it still hasn’t overtaken traditional methods of gaming. Developers need to make a profit from their products. So it could be possible that they’re waiting for more people to switch to VR. More potential customers could compel them to make their games VR-compatible. Although it hasn’t quite soared in terms of popularity yet, it’s been received with rave reviews.
Devices like the PSVR/PSVR2 are adored by the fanbase and PC-supported VR headsets that are compatible with Steam are also well-received by fans. The Oculus Rift, Valve Index, and HTC Valve are all great options for PC gamers who want to experience VR. With so many options out there, it makes sense for people to wish for Survival: Fountain of Youth to have VR support.
