If you are burned out from Sons of the Forest, there’s a new survival game to enjoy instead. Developed by Odinsoft Inc., Survival: Fountain of Youth is an open-world survival game released under the Steam early access program on April 19th. Slated to have a twelve-month early access based on the game’s FAQ, it will also be available on the newer generation PlayStation and Xbox platforms upon its final release. But right now if you want to enjoy Survival: Fountain of Youth, you need to purchase it on Steam. Well, you can’t just buy a game willy-nilly without even knowing about the features it offers. That’s why in this article, we answer the question of whether a multiplayer/co-op mode is coming to the game.
The rise of battle royales and GAAS games significantly increased the number of multiplayer titles in the gaming world. Survival games also haven’t been immune to this. Survival Fountain of Youth Multiplayer/Co-op Mode Release Date: Is it coming
For now, it is official that Odinsoft doesn’t have any concrete plans to include multiplayer/co-op in Survival Fountain of Youth. The studio has pinned a FAQ post on the game’s Steam discussion page. In it, it is clearly stated that Survival: Fountain of Youth’s game mechanics and story were created for a single-player experience only. The post further states that trying to introduce multiplayer/co-op into the game would be detrimental to it.
The roadmap published by the devs also doesn’t mention implementing any multiplayer in it. So, from this, we can at least be sure that there will be no multiplayer modes introduced in the game until it is fully released. The discussion page itself is filled with many posts from players asking for such a mode but the comments reflect a divide between the community. Many players oppose adding anything co-op related, wanting the game to strictly remain a single-player, while others want to enjoy it in a co-op setting.
