Survival games continue to rise in popularity with high-profile releases like Sons of the Forest, Valheim, and Project Zomboid. And it looks like this trend isn’t going to end anytime soon either. Survival: Fountain of Youth is yet another brand new survival game from studio Odinsoft Inc. Released on 19th April as an early access title, the game lets you play as an explorer in Juan Ponce de Leon’s expedition in search of the Fountain of Youth. But due to an unfortunate event, you are now shipwrecked and alone. Now, you must survive, look for your crewmates and uncover the secrets of an ancient civilization. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it!! However, because it’s a very new release, players are unaware of many in-game elements and settings. One such query you may have may be related to the availability of a FOV silder in the game. So, let’s discuss the same.
Survival: Fountain of Youth is an early-access game and due to this, there’s a lot of work to be done on the game. Odinsoft stated in the Steam Early Access FAQ that SFoY will remain in early access for at least twelve months while they take in feedback from the community. That’s a wise move as it allows the devs to grasp what the community likes and dislikes, while simultaneously bringing new and improved content into the game. It’s an approach adopted by many great games including Sons of the Forest. Will, Survival: Fountain of Youth be able to emulate the success of The Forest? That is yet to be known. But, that’s a topic for another day. For now, let’s find out whether a FOV slider is featured in the game.
Survival Fountain of Youth FOV Slider option: Is it available
As of writing this article, Odinsoft’s Survival: Fountain of Youth doesn’t have a FOV slider option. This is a very well-known issue as it has been raised on the game’s Steam discussion page by many players.
psychedelic yeti, a developer on the SFoY team replied to the players’ queries in that same post that the team is currently working on bringing the FOV slider option into the game. He further added that there are also a lot of technical issues with the game, which they have to fix before bringing the feature. The release of a FOV slider isn’t set in stone and for now, remains a WIP (work-in-progress).
We suggest players wait for a while for the devs to release a FOV slider for the game. Being an early-access game means that content and updates are pushed constantly to flesh out the game and make it more playable. The devs did publish an early access roadmap for the game, so we know what’s to come in the upcoming months. If development carries on without any major issues, we can expect the FOV slider soon.
