Bethesda’s Starfield has already proven to be a major success for them and a big win for Xbox (Microsoft), which acquired the studio in 2021 following the acquisition of its parent company, ZeniMax Media. Both critic and player reception has been mostly positive, making it yet another incredible game title of 2023. But Starfield is not without its faults, and calling it a perfect game would be ignorant. Recently, players have started to encounter yet another new problem that is specific to Juno’s Gambit quest.
It seems like there are a lot of quest-centric bugs in the game. From the Eye of the Storm quest to the Into the Unknown quest bug, the list just keeps on expanding. This one, in particular, affects the player mostly during the ending part of the quest. For some, the bug surfaces when they engage in one last conversation with the ship AI Juno, after which the player is unable to leave the ship due to getting stuck in the dialogue screen or the airlock not opening. So, is there a fix for this bug? Let’s find out!
Starfield Juno’s Gambit Quest Bug: Is there any fix yet
As of now, we are yet to receive any kind of official fix for this particular bug. And so, players will need to follow the potential workarounds mentioned below and hope for the best.
Kill the two Ryujin passengers –
While the game does give you a choice to side with the two Ryujin operatives, some players found that killing them resolved this bug. So, we suggest you try this out and see if it helps. If the bug is still there, then follow the next method.
Use console commands –
Only PC players will be able to try this method. Furthermore, if you use console commands, note that the game will mark your current save as modded, resulting in achievements getting disabled. If you still want to go ahead, then:
- Perform a manual save before your final conversation with Juno.
- Next, press the tilde key (~) to open Console Command.
- Instead of initiating the last conversation, type in SetStage 001a03d4 600 and hit enter.
- Once the command is entered, the ship’s airlock will open, giving you an exit. Close the console command and get out.
- Since the two Ryujin operatives will not follow you, the mission will remain incomplete.
- To finish this, head to Neon, open the console command once again, and type in: Setstage 001a03d4 950.
Get another ship to dock –
If you have successfully exited the airlock and left, but the game still mentions that you need to undock, then search for a different ship. Once you find one, carefully walk to the cockpit and get onto the ship. Undock and fly away.
Reload a previous save –
It’s issues like this that explain why we recommend players regularly create manual saves instead of relying on auto-saves. If you have a previous save with no bugs, reload that and then check if the issue is still there or not.
Repair the game –
Sometimes the issue can be due to a game missing or having corrupted files. To fix this, open Steam and navigate to the library. From there, look for Starfield, and once found, right-click on it to select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Wait until the repair process is over. Once done, launch the game, and check if the issue persists.
Well, until an official fix is released, these are the only workarounds you can try to fix the issue. That said, for more guides and information on Starfield, follow DigiStatement. Also read: Starfield Infinite Phased Time power bug: Is there any fix yet
