How to surrender in Starfield

If you’re someone who loves challenges and is always ready for combat, surrendering without a fight may seem like an absurd idea. If you’ve mastered your battling skills after hours of gameplay, simply giving up doesn’t sound like the best possible choice. However, there are times when it’ll be in the best interest of your character to simply surrender and go down without inciting more violence. Even in Bethesda Game Studios’ latest RPG title, Starfield, you can make the choice to surrender in front of law enforcement authorities if it comes down to that point. While this may not be the choice that you prefer, it’s definitely a wise one. But if you face such a situation, do you know how to surrender in Starfield? Consider reading this article until the end for more details.

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Starfield finally hit the market on September 6, 2023. Being one of the finest space-themed RPG titles of late, Starfield has generated massive popularity among fans who simply can’t wait to enjoy it. In fact, an Early Access edition of Starfield is currently available for players who purchase the Premium Edition. However, since the game is relatively new, some in-game mechanics, functions, and actions are still not clear to many. For example, if you’re being chased down by law enforcement authorities, how can you give up and surrender? This is something that players are still trying to figure out. In fact, one bigger question is if it’s even worth it to surrender in the game. So, without further ado, let’s get to the bottom of this matter.

How to Surrender in Starfield?

Bethesda Game Studios has done a remarkable job with Starfield, and they’ve successfully created an engaging gaming experience for the fans. This includes all the combat sequences in the game, which are aplenty. So if you’re a master of combat in Starfield, then why would you even need to surrender in the game? Well, as it turns out, the law enforcement authorities in Starfield work in a similar manner to those in the Elder Scrolls series. So, if you aren’t a law-abiding citizen, you can be jailed or even “gunned down”, depending on the crimes you’ve committed. When such a situation arises and you’re surrounded by the police, taking up a fight will simply end up getting you killed. Thus, this is the moment when you’ll have to surrender.

Note: Based on the severity of your crimes, you may or may not get the option to surrender. So, it is important that you don’t do too much illegal stuff or you will end up dead for sure.

How to surrender?

Now, surrendering in Starfield is pretty easy, to be fair. When you find police officers chasing you, the first thing you have to do is holster your weapon. If you’re on PC, pressing and holding the R key (which is the same key for reloading) will holster your weapon. For Xbox users, you’ll have to press and hold the X button on your controllers. Once you holster your weapon, approach the officer slowly. When you’re in close proximity, you’ll have the option to pay a bounty, serve jail time, or kill the officer. We advise you not to go down the third road, which can turn out to be dangerous. Simply pay the bounty or serve jail time, and you’ll live to fight another day.

So, this is how to surrender in Starfield. Hopefully, you found this content useful. If you want to know how to change the appearance of your character in the game, click here. And for more such gaming-related content, keep visiting DigiStatement.
