Starfield Groundpounder Quest Bug: Is There Any Fix Yet?

Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield is the latest action-RPG title, that’s releasing on September 6th, 2023. You can get your hands on this highly anticipated game if you’re have a Windows PC or the Xbox Series X/S console. If you’re a fan of space exploration and combat games, then this is the perfect game for you. In fact, the brilliance of Starfield is already visible as the Early Access edition has received favorable reviews. However, this doesn’t mean that the game is all perfect. In fact, players have reported several bugs and errors in the game that have troubled them throughout. One such bug in the game has left players unable to complete the Groundpounder quest. If you are encountering the same, continue reading this article until the end to find out how to fix the Groundpounder quest bug in Starfield.

When Bethesda made Starfield available on Early Access, it created enough excitement among the players who looked forward to enjoying this magnificent gaming experience. However, the expectations have taken some sort of hit as the players have started facing different bugs in the game. The Groundpounder quest is a side quest in the game which players have experienced to be quite buggy. So, can you actually solve this bug and finish the quest? If yes, then how? Let’s find out how exactly you can solve this Starfield Groundpounder quest bug in this article.

Starfield Groundpounder Quest Bug: How to Fix?

Starfield Groundpounder Quest Bug

As you may have guessed if you’ve started playing Starfield, the game features a number of different quests that players can complete to progress through the gameplay. The Groundpounder quest is one such side quest where players are prompted to fight and defeat a group of spacers near Altair II. The fight takes place near the Freestar Collective Research Outpost. There are several bugs that players have faced during this quest, all of which we have listed below.

Location marker bug

One bug that has specifically troubled players is that after battling with the first group of spacers, the location marker disappears and players cannot understand where to proceed. This bug can indeed be fixed, although the workaround is a little tricky. What you have to do is take your ship and go to New Atlantis again. You will find a spacer’s ship marked with a blue marker there. Wait until this ship lifts off and then chase it with your spaceship. Once you reach the orbit, the next battle will start.

Groundpounder mission log bug

Even after you take your ship to New Atlantis and defeat the spacers, some times the game will tell you that there are more spacers to fight. Once again, this bug can be fixed but it’s a long process. Firstly, as shared by Reddit user Bombollo, you can take the fight to Altair V instead of fighting the spacers in the New Atlantis orbit. For this, simply warp to Altair V and the enemy ships will follow you there. Fighting your battle here will help you complete the mission.
However, if you’ve already fought the spacers on the New Atlantis orbit, you can still complete the mission. Simply start any other quest that involves battling spacers and complete that quest. This would help you debug the mission log of the Groundpounder quest as well and you can progress in the game.

Lezama not opening door bug

Finally, the last bug that players face is where they’ve cleared out the spacers and Lezama still won’t open the door. However, it’s not really a bug. You can open this door by collecting the U3-09 keycards. One of these cards can be collected from the soldier near the door while the other one can be secured from Sergeant Dasari upstairs.

Well, this is how you can overcome the Starfield Groundpounder quest bug and complete the mission. If you found this article helpful, keep visiting DigiStatement for more such gaming-related content.
