The excitement for Starfield increases with each passing hour, as the game is all set to launch on September 6 for Windows and Xbox Series X/S. But many are already halfway through their space-faring adventure in the game. How? Well, players who purchased the Premium Edition of the game were given early access to it, and they are on their way to exploring the vast in-game world consisting of over 1,000 planets. But it hasn’t been a smooth ride for the early-access players. Issues such as being unable to repair ship and the controller not working are prevalent in the game, making it hard for some to enjoy the experience to its fullest. And now, a major bug with the Deimos Station has surfaced.
The bug seems to affect players by making it impossible for them to enter the station after docking with it. Players have reported that after docking their ship with the Deimos Station and pressing Enter, the interface simply disappears from the screen, and the door remains locked. All in all, this is a major bug that needs to be addressed immediately. So, is there any fix for it? Let’s find out!
Starfield Deimos Station Bug: Is there any fix yet
Currently, we don’t have any kind of official fix for this bug. However, as mentioned earlier, the official launch of Starfield is just a few hours away, so we are expecting the Day 1 patch to get rid of all such issues. Whether it does or doesn’t is something we cannot say for sure. So, until then, you can try these workarounds and see if they provide any meaningful results.
Leave the system and come back later –
The best workaround for this bug is to simply leave the system and then return after a while. Visit any other system, progress a bit, and later on, make a return journey to the Sol system, where the station is located. This will likely resolve the issue without much hassle. However, if you still encounter the same problem, we suggest you try the next method.
Save the current playthrough and go to the main menu –
Another alternative is to use the save feature. Perform a manual save of your current playthrough and then exit the game. Now, launch it again, load the recently saved file, and see if the issue still exists.
Perform a correct docking procedure –
Players should know how to dock correctly in-game. One wrong button or key press, and you can say goodbye to a successful docking with a ship or space station. So, make sure that you are docking properly. To perform the docking procedure correctly, aim at the station and press A (on a controller) or E (on a keyboard), followed by the X (on a controller) or R (on a keyboard) button.
Open the scanner and click on R –
You can also try opening your scanner and then hitting the R key on your keyboard to dock and enter the station. But if this doesn’t work at all, try the next workaround.
Restart the game –
If nothing else works, then restart Starfield. This straightforward technique helps to fix many bugs and errors, but there is a 50/50 chance that it won’t. Regardless, you will never find out without giving it a try.
That said, we hope you can fix this Deimos Station bug in Starfield with ease using the provided workarounds. For more such interesting guides, check out DigiStatement daily. Also, read: Can you play Starfield Offline without an internet Connection?
