Dramatic Labs and published by Bruner House, Star Trek Resurgence is the latest Star Trek game, that was released back in 2023 for all platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. However, the game’s release on PC was restricted to the Epic Games Store only, as it was an exclusive title. Now, in 2024, exactly on May 23, Star Trek Resurgence made its way to Steam and the player reception towards it has been very good. That said, as the game was released on Steam, many players might be wondering about its compatibility with handhelds like the Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, and Asus Rog Ally. If you too are wondering about the same, consider reading until the end.
Being an action-adventure game featuring a third-person perspective, Star Trek Resurgence is a worthy addition to the list of games perfect for handheld gameplay. Its focus on narrative, challenging puzzles, and overall gameplay is best suited to be enjoyed on the go, on devices that are capable of handling it. However, the game’s system requirements are on the higher side, which is why running it on handhelds can be a stretch. But is it possible? Continue reading to know more.

Steam Deck
Well, unfortunately, Star Trek Resurgence is not a Deck-Verified title and is not even listed as Playable on the Steam Deck. This might be due to the high system requirements of the game, which is a bit too much for the Deck to handle for smooth gameplay. But there’s more to the story. Despite the lack of official compatibility details, some players did try and run it on the handheld, and they were successful in doing so. But the performance isn’t great. On high quality preset, the in-game FPS is just way too low to enjoy the game, while setting the quality preset to medium just makes the game look ugly. It is a fact that the Steam Deck can handle AAA titles at acceptable framerates, but Star Trek Resurgence’s poor performance on the handheld makes it clear that the game isn’t well optimized. Here’s a gameplay video of the game running on the Deck:
Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go
Now, unlike the Steam Deck, both the Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go are better at handling resource-hungry or unoptimized games, as they boast slightly better hardware than the Deck. This means that you will be getting a much better experience while playing Star Trek Resurgence on your Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go than on the Deck. However, back when the game was released in 2023, many players did mention that the game crashed when launching it on the Rog Ally, but this was reportedly fixed by AMD via a driver update. Anyway, long story short, if you have the Rog Ally or Legion Go, feel free to download the game and enjoy it on the go.
