For casual players, 60 FPS should be enough for a decent experience, however, for hardcore gamers on PC, it isn’t enough. See the next section below to know more.
How to uncap framerates in Sonic Frontiers?
While the game doesn’t offer the option to uncap framerates officially, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. There are a few unofficial tools that can help you bypass certain functions of the game, including the capped framerate setting. To uncap framerates, you need to download Cheat Engine and install it. You can get the cheat for uncapping the framerates from here. Once you open the program, follow the steps mentioned below.
- Click on “Select Process” from the top left and select “Sonic Frontiers”, and tick the “Unlock Framerate” box at the bottom.
- After that, double-click on the 60 value and change it to your preferred framerate.
Keep in mind that Sonic Frontiers needs to be in borderless windowed mode for the desired framerate to work. Also, make sure that V-Sync is turned off. However, there are a few cons to using the unlocked framerates in the cheat engine. The cutscene animations (Non-FMV) will remain at 30 FPS, except for particle effects. There are other issues like lip sync desync with audio, sonic getting stuck while using the light dash, and movement lag. So, you will eventually face some problems, but they are can be tolerated as long as you get uncapped framerates. We hope that you enjoyed reading this article.
