NVIDIA SHIELD TV rolls out the 25th software update for its users, the highest for any Android TV support introducing several new features. SHIELD TV was launched in May 2015 and the updates have ensured that users enjoy all the present gen features, up to date.
SHIELD TV owners have expressed on social media extreme satisfaction with their product. But it all gets better with the latest update. So, here’s what’s new!
AI upscaler
AI upscaler is one of the best and new features in the 2019 SHIELD TVs. The feature automatically renders low-resolution videos to sharper and much detailed visuals. NVIDIA’s upscaler is known to recreate videos that no other system can match up. The edges are sharper, details are vividly highlighted, and landscapes exhibit extreme clarity with NVIDIA’s upscaler. The latest update brings in UHD 4K upscaling support from 360p to 1440p content.
60fps content
Wondering if the previous upscaler had anything less compared to the mind-blowing quality content users got as NVIDIA brings in support for 60fps content! Guess what the best outcome of this support is? You can now stream live sports on HD TV and HD video from YouTube to 4K with AI. NVIDIA also promises to add 4K 60fps upscaling to GeForce NOW to improve the gaming experience.
Most customizable remote
SHIELD TV comes with a customizable menu button on the remote. With a bunch of clicks and holds, you can access and execute multiple function quote easily. But in addition to action assigned to a single press, users can now configure a custom action for double press and long press. So, this brings 25 actions available with the remote, making it the most customizable remote for streaming.
Additional supports
The latest update extends support for digital projectors, allowing functionality when SHIELD isn’t active. When you are using the SHIELD TV app and paired with Google Home, it adds IR volume control as well. Above all, NVIDIA has added native SMBv3 support in the latest update. This provides faster and more secure connections between PC and SHIELD. SMBv3 now works without requiring a PLEX media server.
