Schedule I does come with official Steam Cloud Save support but that doesn’t mean that the feature works flawlessly for everyone. If you are reading this guide, it is clear that the progress you are making in-game isn’t syncing to the cloud. No matter whether you make sure that you’ve saved the game on the server, your progress might still vanish the next time you launch the game on the same PC or a different one, for example, a Steam Deck. That said, in this guide, we have shared everything there is to know about this problem along with some workarounds to fix it.
One possible cause of this issue is that you are playing the sample version instead of the paid one. The sample version of the game doesn’t offer any progress sync across the cloud so make sure you have purchased Schedule I. If you have a paid copy and are still encountering this problem, try the workarounds shared below.

Well, in the recent Patch v0.3.4f8 for the game, the developers did implement a fix that would reduce Steam Cloud sync time and potentially fix this issue. So, make sure to update the game first. If the issue persists, try these methods:
Delete/Move Save File
Well, this might seem like a stretch, as why are we recommending you delete hours of your progress in-game. The thing is, when switching a PC, handheld, or other device, you will need to first save the game on the device you are playing the game on and then delete the already existing old save file on the PC you are planning to play next for the progress to transfer over. The game’s save file can be found here: C:\Users\%usernamefolder%\AppData\LocalLow\TVGS\Schedule I\Saves\. Here, enter the folder that has random numbers as its name. Now, delete/move the files inside. After this, launch the game, and the Steam Cloud sync dialogue should appear, making Steam download the latest Cloud Save.
Manually Disable/Enable Cloud Saves everytime before switching
Another workaround for this issue is to head over to the game’s Properties menu via Steam and then, in the General tab, disable Cloud Saves. After this, enable it again and then launch the game to check whether the latest cloud saves have been downloaded.
Manually transfer progress
Well, this is the traditional way to ensure that you don’t lose a minute of your in-game progress when switching devices. This method eliminates the need for cloud saves. What you need to do is, after you are done playing the game on your PC/laptop/Steam Deck, make sure to copy the save files of the game and transfer them over to the system you will be playing on next. This way, the progress will carry over.
