Motion blur is a feature that many gamers dislike. However, many new game releases usually come with this feature turned on by default. This is also the case for the new sci-fi game, Scars Above. If you are a player who doesn’t like motion blur and wants to turn this setting off, you have come to the right place. This article is therefore regarding how to disable motion blur in Scars Above.
Scars Above: How to disable Motion Blur?
Unfortunately, there is currently n option within the game to disable Motion Blur. This is quite disappointing to hear for players who dislike motion blur in their games. Although there is no option within the game for this setting, there is a workaround that is worth trying. Go to the following folder path to find the game’s Engine.ini file: %LocalAppData%\ScarsAbove\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini. Edit the .ini file and make changes to the following lines within the file and save the changes:

You can try this method, but as per reports, it doesn’t affect the motion blur much. However, you can set the Screen Effects option to Low from the in-game settings menu to mitigate the motion blur a bit.
Developers’ response to the no motion blur disabling option issue in Scars Above:
The game’s developers are also aware of the missing motion blur option. Likewise, they responded to the queries of the players. Here’s one statement-
“thanks for reaching out – we hear you, and understand this is affecting some people. We are currently checking our options here, and hopefully can share at least a potential outlook on what´s possible later today.“
Likewise, this means that the developers are working on a way to include an option that will allow players to enable/disable the motion blur in the game. They also stated-
“Please understand this is no excuse, and it´s something we will clearly keep in mind moving forward. Indeed we dropped the ball on this. While we aimed to deliver the best possible experience (and are fairly happy with Scars overall), this sadly slipped our reviews and tests prior“.
This shows that the developers made a mistake in not having the option available within the game’s settings at launch. Hopefully, a new update that offers an option to disable Motion Blur is released for the game soon.
