There are innumerable skills a soccer player should master before any match. Just as in real life, mastering the skills in Rocket League requires hours of practice. The Air Dribble in Rocket League is no less than a masterpiece in terms of scoring almost a perfect goal. Today, we will mention the tips to get to the pinnacle of mastering this important skill.
Air Dribbling is when you jump off a wall and carry the ball in mid-air directly to the opponent’s goal post. This requires precision in timing and practice to perfect that accuracy and car control. The tips that you will need are given below.
Off the WALL
For a successful air dribble, you have to bring the ball to the wall first. Roll the ball towards the wall. Make sure that the ball is not bouncing while going towards the wall. You will have to make sure that it has a uniform rolling speed. Keep your car just behind the ball and be close to it if possible.
Once the ball rolls up the wall, hit the ball with the nose of your car in the direction of the goal post. Try not to hit it in the middle. This will shoot the ball up unnecessarily which you don’t want.
In the AIR
Just after hitting the ball, take-off from the wall using the boost. While in mid-air, gently hit the ball to move towards the post. Before hitting the ball, turn off the boost. Once the ball moves further ahead, boost your car to go near the ball. After the first gentle hit, you can use the boost as and when necessary to carry the ball until you score that goal.
To practice this skill, you should follow a few tips. For beginners, start by practicing from the mid-section or nearer to the post. Once you get the hang of it, you have to practice from all possible distances.
Another important thing is the angle. If the height of the ball is low while it’s climbing the wall, try to hit it at a vertical angle. Your aim should be to bring the ball inside the field and towards the post. On the contrary, if the height is relatively high, hit it at a horizontal angle to adjust the direction of the ball.
At first, this will seem overwhelming. However, with ample practice, you will master it. For a video guide, you can check out the YouTube video of FLuuMP. He has demonstrated it very well.
