If we speak of adventure RPG games, Gunfire Games’ Remnant series is surely one of the best. The first game, Remnant: From the Ashes, came out in 2019, and three years later, we have its sequel. Remnant 2, the latest game in the series, was released on July 25, 2023. The popularity of the game is mainly due to its engaging storyline and intense fight sequences. The game offers various weapons, armor, and character buffs to put the players in an advantageous position during the fights. The Explorer Armor is a much-coveted piece of armor in the game, and players really look forward to getting their hands on this item. That is also due to the fact that it is one of the requirements to unlock the recently discovered Archon Archetype in the game. However, as of late, a number of players have reported a bug where they can’t purchase the armor from the vendor in the game. If you’ve encountered the same issue, continue reading this article to find out the potential fixes.
Collecting the Explorer Armor, which is also called the Realmwalker Armor, isn’t an easy job. In order to have this armor available for purchase, you need to complete the main campaign. For this, you’ll have to beat the final boss, Annihilation, and collect the Broken Compass. Next, you’ll need to carry this item to Wallace, whom you can find in the Ward 13 region. Wallace will help you craft the Golden Compass Engram in exchange for the Broken Compass, 10 Lumenite Crystals, and 1000 Scrap. Crafting this engram will unlock the Explorer Archetype, following which players can purchase the Explorer Armor from the vendor named Whispers. However, due to a strange bug, this armor doesn’t appear in stock even after the players have completed the campaign and unlocked the Explorer Archetype. So, what can now be done to fix this problem? Let’s take a closer look.
Remnant 2 Explorer Armor Not Sold Issue: How to Fix?
If you’ve been searching for the Explorer Armor in the game, and when you finally unlock the Explorer Archetype, you can’t find the armor in the vendor’s store, we understand how frustrating that can be. You’re not the only one facing this problem. Fortunately, the developers have acknowledged the issue, so expect a fix soon in the upcoming patch. Meanwhile, we do have a few workarounds for this bug, so make sure to try them.

Offline Mode
Reddit user EvergreenSaturn shared that this bug can be bypassed by playing the game in offline mode. If you’re trying to purchase the Explorer Armor from Whispers, don’t do so in co-op. So, in case you haven’t completed the campaign in offline mode, you need to re-roll the campaign. Set the game in offline mode and complete the entire campaign again. This time, once you complete the campaign and follow the steps mentioned previously, you can purchase the Explorer Armor from the Whispers vendor.
Don’t Skip Credits Screen
Also, the same Reddit user reported that watching the end-game credits is also important to avoid this bug (on Xbox). So, once you complete the campaign, make sure not to skip the credits screen.
Reroll in Survivor mode
If the issue persists, consider rerolling the campaign in survivor mode and then trying again. Many reported that doing so fixed the bug, and they were able to purchase the armor from Whispers.
Create Explorer Archetype
If you didn’t already know, the Explorer armor is the default armor of the Explorer Archetype. So, what you can do is create a new explorer archetype and then load your original character. Doing so can make the armor appear in the vendor’s inventory.
Don’t defeat the final boss
Yes, instead of defeating the final boss, fast-travel back to Ward 13 from the final boss fight arena. Make sure not to interact with Keeper or Clementine. Now, interact with Whispers and check whether the armor appears.
Well, these are the potential workarounds to fix the Explorer Armor Not Sold bug in Remnant 2. Hopefully, the developers will release a patch soon. That said, don’t forget to stay tuned to DigiStatement for more such gaming-related content.
