Re: Zero based on the light novel of Tappie Nagatsuki will be back in July 2020 with its season 2. Re: Zero fans waited for quite some time before there was news of season 2. The coronavirus pandemic also caused a substantial delay in the release of the anime, which would have aired in February.
The story follows Natsuki Subaru as he finds himself in another world after a casual walk. Season 1’s direction and staying true to the light novel made it a popular anime.
Re-Zero Season 2 Release Date
As is the case with many other animes, the initial of Re-zero release suffers a delay due to the pandemic. The trailer of Season 2 was released back in mid-2019.
The episode 1 of season 2 is going to be aired on July 8th, 2020. The season 2- starting life in another world will contain 25 episodes. The season will be divided into two halves, one half will air 12-13 episodes after which there will be a mid-season break of 3 months. The rest of the episodes will be aired after the break.
Season 2 Plot Details
From the above trailer, you can clearly see that our protagonist is not feeling so hot. But Rem! Yes, Rem comes back to become the staple of Re: zero. In the first season, Subaru defeats the witch cult and the sin of archbishop of sloth. Subaru has come back after winning against the death. Season 2 will pick the story after the battle, continuing at Arc 4 of the novel. The novel chapter is called The Everlasting contract.
Season 2 should contain Volume 10 to Volume 15 if the production keeps the pace of last season. There will be the Trials of Sanctuary that Subaru has to go through at the request of a severely injured Roswaal. We will also be introduced to Echidna The Witch of Greed in this season.
