The Pokemon Company recently announced the new Celebrations expansion pack that will be coming out as part of the Sword and Shield series of cards to mark the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon Trading Card Game. In this article, we will be taking a look at the release date for this Pokemon Celebrations expansion, what it will be coming with, and how you can get it. Right, let’s get straight into it.
The Pokemon Company announced the new Celebrations Elite Trainer Box via Twitter. While the pricing for this box has not yet been confirmed, it is sure to set you back quite a bit, considering all of the cards and expansions that will be included in it. “Each box includes 10 Celebrations 4-card booster packs, 5 additional booster packs, a special foil card featuring Greninja, and much more!”
Meanwhile, on the Trading Card Game website, the Celebrations Expansion pack details have also gone online. It will feature over 45 cards! Here is the official contents list off the official Pokemon website:
- 4 Pokémon V and 2 Pokémon VMAX
- 25 classic Pokémon TCG cards
- More than 45 cards
The pack will come with 4 Pokemon V cards, which have harder hitting attacks and higher HP. You also receive 2 prize cards instead of the usual 1 if a V card is knocked out. You also receive two VMAX cards, which allow you to supersize your Pokemon when you are fighting over a Power Spot. These cards, when knocked out, get you 3 prize cards.
Apart from these special V and VMAX cards, you will also be getting 25 classic Pokemon TCG cards, which the Pokemon Company has described as follows:
“Celebrate some of Pokémon’s greatest moments over 25 years of adventure, discovery, and friendship! The Celebrations expansion offers plenty to be excited about, including an opportunity to stroll down memory lane with classic Pokémon TCG cards. Add a joyous parade of Legendary, Mythical, and other beloved Pokémon to your collection, including Mew, Ho-Oh, Zamazenta, Flying Pikachu, and Surfing Pikachu. Join the party with the Pokémon TCG: Celebrations expansion!”
Definitely a couple of very familiar names there! The Celebrations expansions will be released on October 8, 2021. Let’s hope you are able to get them before the scalpers do!
We also cover other Pokemon games like Pokémon GO!, Pokemon UNITE, and its spin-off on Roblox, Loomian Legacy. Cheers!
