The first step is to increase your friendship level with all the teachers. Likewise, you have to increase these levels as you go through the academic year, by completing quests, midterm exams as well as final exams. You have to actively interact with the teachers after completing all of the classroom quests to increase your friendship levels. You can get 50 Dragon Tera Shards from Hassel, and 50 Rock Tera Shards from Ms. Tyme after increasing your friendship levels with them(Close Bond), and 50 Normal Tera Shards from the Chef at the restaurant in Medali. You can also find Tera Shards by defeating/catching Tera Type Pokemon in the wild. You can identify tera pokemon easily since they glow. You have to catch or defeat these Pokemon to get their Tera-Type crystals. Another way for you to farm for Tera Shards is to go to Area Zero. Likewise, you can find the shards by exploring the Area Zero region. There are quite a number of shards for you to find in this area. However, it is a much slower process.

Well, you can also get Tera Shards from completing different Tera Raids. You can see these raids on your map. But, you can only complete 3 Star Raids before completing the main story. After winning the Academy tournament, as well as, completing the main story, you can start completing 4-Star and 5-Star raids to get more Tera Shards.
