Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (SV): How to evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha (Teal Mask DLC)

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero storyline pack, The Teal Mask, was finally made available on September 13, 2023. This new DLC introduces new characters, legendary Pokemon, and tons of returning Pokemon that were previously unavailable in the base game. One of the many new Pokemon introduced in this DLC is the Poltchageist. Cute and terrifying at the same time, many players now want to get their own Poltchageist evolved into its next evolution, Sinistcha, in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC. If you are interested in evolving it as well, continue reading.

In case you are new to the Pokemon franchise, you must know that evolutions are pretty important. Not only do they serve as a cosmetic change for Pokemon, but they also unlock better stats and abilities. From Pikachu to Raichu, Dragonair to Dragonite, the list of popular evolutions is never-ending. And of course, evolving Poltchageist into Sinistcha does the same thing as other Pokemon evolutions. So, how do you evolve your Poltchageist? Let’s find out!

Contrary to what you may think, Sinistcha isn’t related to Sinistea at all. Although both Pokemon resemble each other quite well, they are different species. While Poltchageist wasn’t included in the base game, The Teal Mask DLC served as its introduction into the ninth generation of mainline Pokemon games. To get this Pokemon, you must purchase the DLC and then enter the Kitakami region. It is mainly found in the southeastern part of this region.

Poltchageist can evolve to Sinistcha, which is a dual-type Grass/Ghost Pokemon. And like other Pokemon, it can learn a variety of moves. In order to evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha, you can use either one of two items: – Unremarkable Teacup or the Masterpiece Teacup. Now, one of the interesting things about Poltchageist is that it has two forms: Counterfeit and Artisan. You can catch any one of these forms as the only difference between them is that the Artisan form has a special seal located at the bottom. Counterfeit form is more common, while Artisan is rare.

Unremarkable Teacup location

The Unremarkable Teacup is used to evolve the Counterfeit Form of Poltchageist, while the Masterpiece Teacup is for the Artisan Poltchageist. Players can find the Unremarkable Teacup in a cave located in the northwest part of Kitakami, near Paradise Barrens. There’s a red sign (the third one) available near the cave, so you wouldn’t have much trouble finding it.

Masterpiece Teacup location

As for the Masterpiece Teacup, it’s also inside a cave. This one is on the northeast part of Kitakami, near Timeless Woods. There’s a Snorlax sleeping at the entrance of the cave, which makes it easier to find.

When you have obtained the appropriate item, open your inventory and select it. Give it to Poltchageist, and it will evolve into Sinistcha. Now enjoy your newly evolved Pokemon.
